Willies headed to Mizzou?

If Willies prospers at MU it will be another red flag against kfootball. While Willies boxed kfootball into a corner by quitting mid-season, it should have never gotten to that point. My goodness, Vandeburg and McCarron were getting reps instead of Willies. Is kfootball really that stubborn? I know, that's a rhetorical question. kfootball proved once and for all, last season, that he absolutely will play the less talented player if that player is a robotic fit that will perpetuate his outdated offensive philosophy.

Don't worry though! Kittle has really improved his blocking and that should make up for the loss!!!

Willies not a good enough story for Iowa? I don't know. But if he does well at Missouri, then more proof that the best players aren't playing, I guess.

Mizzou only got one productive season out of that one in-state recruit who was like the Lebron James of wide receiver recruits. Getting production from "playmaker diva" type kids isn't as easy as it looks.

Green-Beckham's problem(s) were off the field, not on it.

He. Hasn't. Played. One. Single. Down.

So blinded by the KF hate. Ridiculous.

100% correct that Willies hasn't played a down at MU, yet. But I wouldn't describe the posters in this thread as having blind hatred for kfootball. But he has lost the fan base, for the most part, because he is 4 games over .500 the past 5 seasons combined. Regarding Willies, we all saw the high level of talent that he showed when he had opportunities to play. We also saw that he made some mistakes. But Iowa fans are no longer want to see less talented players playing over those with more, because the more talented player makes some mistakes, when the less talented players also make some mistakes.

Specifically, this thread is speculative, but you will see that my post clearly started with "if" and "if" my "if" comes to fruition, then my post will be 100% correct. Time will tell.

Yeah, he totally blew away Iowa's terrible secondary last year in the SPRING GAME. EVERYONE played at a high level against our secondary last year. Not meaning to bag on the kid at all, but he didn't do much of anything with the PT he did get. He had a TD against Ball State? That's the sample size we are using to assess his high level of talent? Iowa's secondary and Ball State. Got it.

If I see him tearing it up for Mizzou I'm not gonna be happy about it sure, but he did quit on the team. IMO, if he doesn't want to be a Hawk, then don't let the door hit you in the ace as you leave.

And yes, it is blind hatred for KF that drives most posters on here.

He sealed the UNI game by hauling in a 50 yard pass in the 4th qtr when momentum was completely against us. Then the next week caught a crucial 4th quarter TD against Ball State. Then we sat him.

I have wondered about this. People always make it seem like he played the first 2 weeks, and then not at all afterwards. My impression was always that he was on the field (at least through the 1st bye week), but not always making an impact. Does any one have any info on snaps per game for the Iowa WR up to the point where it was claimed that Willies was injured?

He did quit the team and I think kfootball was right in making it almost too difficult to come back to the team. That is one part of that discussion. Another part is "why" did he quit? I believe he absolutely showed a very high level of talent; more talent than all other receivers, even perhaps T. Smith, but T. Smith is very talented. So, to me DW and CJ were in the same boat; they both should have been playing last season. CJ handled it correctly and DW didn't. But quitting the team doesn't discount the reason(s) he did and certainly doesn't reduce the amount of talent he has. The amount of talent he has, you find ways to get him on the field.

Not two of Iowa's most stellar efforts...sorry.

Almost as ridiculous as the Iowa fans who fail to realize the potential of a 6'4 WR with good speed. He showed more athletic ability in his one catch against UNI (he actually accelerated at the end of a fly route and extended to catch an overthrown ball) than most KF WRs show in their entire careers. Most Iowa WRs can't accelerate period, let alone at the end of a route.

Its also pretty ridiculous to believe that he is as bad at WR as 89 & 17. Because few WRs on B1G rosters are.
