Willies Gone....again

I doubt Willies or someone in his camp stays silent. He needs to land somewhere first, then it will come out. Maybe KF can tell us why he keeps losing what appear to be playmakers. CJ is next. Or shall we keep that private too.
If He wants to tell his story that is fine. Its his to tell. But people cant be all over KF because he doesn't do that

Comon, dotcha know it is mob rules time with full on torches and pitchforks for da Ferentz.....why would any sort of rationality enter any thought for da haters with the pitchforks?

Willies made every attempt possible of a 19 year old kid to rejoin the team. Unfortunately, he went up against a dinosaur who would rather lose but be surrounded by yes men then apply common sense and spend 30 minute meeting with the kid and allowing him to rejoin the team and begin practicing. Willies saw that the writing was on the wall. He rode the bench this year behind the likes of Vandenberg and other speed burners, and next year he would undoubtedly be in the coach's dog house. Best case scenerio for Willies would be that he could see the field in 2 years, playing for a team that would likely be a pre-season 12th place Big 10 finisher. The coaching staff is simply out of touch with kids. They are too old and too stubborn. They prefer 2 star talent who give 100% every day rather than 4 star talent who might not take each practice snap with the same effort. It is going to be a long year next year. We have literally ZERO WR talent coming back.

I hope you don't actually get paid real money to practice law. You wouldn't know a fact if it bit you on the butt. You shoot your mouth off as if you know things you can't possibly know.

Everything Iowalaw said is spot on. Enlighten us all as to what he said that isn't correct.

Another genius chimes in... the entire freaking post was nothing more than pure speculation and opinion expressed as if it were facts.

Please tell me how either of you know that the kid did everything possible to get back on the team... what does that even mean? Please tell me how either of you know that Kirk Ferentz would rather lose. When you're done with that please tell me how either of you know what things were considered, why those things weren't common sense and how you know that no meeting took place between the coach and the kid. When you're done filling us in on all that please tell us how either of you know what the kid's state of mind was and exactly what writing you think he saw on the imaginary wall. After that please describe for us what special insight either of you have that enables you to predict the kid's best case scenario moving forward. Finally, given the fact that neither of you have any inside contacts, attend no team meetings and have spent zero time in close contact with the team please tell us how you come to the conclusion that the entire coaching staff is out of touch with the kids.

It's like you guys are 14 and think you know something. As I said, shooting off your mouths about things you can't possibly know.

LTP and Angerer were both more sought after recruits than Willies was.....so I'm not sure where you are going with this. I think we all saw what the death of KF father did to him with the emotional Penn St. game, so I doubt very much the health of his father is lost on KF. To me this sounds like KF laid out the path for Willies to rejoin the team, and Willies decided to go another route.

Ferentz said he spoke with Willies several times in December. The health of Willies’ father, Derrick Willies Sr., was mentioned by teammates as part of the reason Willies left. Ferentz was asked if Willies was offered a chance for a conditional return.“We had a conversation about what I thought was fair,â€￾ Ferentz said. “Bottom line is, I think, he gave it some thought and decided he’s going to explore some other paths.â€￾

LTP was a 247Sports 3-star DE coming out of high school. He had offers from quite a few B1G schools (Mich St, Nebby, Indiana, Wisky) and others.
Angerer was a 247Sports 3-star LB coming out of high school. He had offers from quite a few B1G schools (Mich St, Nebby, Indiana).
DW was a 247Sports 3-star WR coming out of high school. He had offers from Iowa St, Illinois St, Northern Ill, and Eastern Ill.

Maybe DW was a little lower on the "sought after" scale, but not much.

Everything Iowalaw said is spot on. Enlighten us all as to what he said that isn't correct.

  1. He stated "he went up against a dinosaur who would rather lose" (with no comparator). If you or anyone here thinks Kirk wants to lose, then you are beyond reason.
  2. He stated "spend 30 minute meeting with the kid and allowing him to rejoin the team and begin practicing". We know Kirk had publicly stated that he was going to meet with him after the bowl game. I know that if a kid leaves the team in the middle of the season for multiple games I would not let him back until after the season was over.
  3. He stated "He rode the bench this year behind the likes of Vandenberg and other speed burners" as if being fast is the ONLY requiremet for being a WR. Obviously there are things like running precise routes, having your head in the game to break off routes when an audible is called, etc. (He did look rather foolish two plays in a row when he didn't even think he was going to get the ball)
  4. He said "They prefer 2 star talent who give 100% every day rather than 4 star talent who might not take each practice snap with the same effort." No, what they prefer is 4 star talent that gives 100% every day. Talent that doesn't work every play to get better isn't really talent.
  5. He stated "We have literally ZERO WR talent coming back." Uh, HELLO! Tevaun Smith is on the phone wanting to talk with you.

iowalaw has numerous posts full of venom and hate always directed at Ferentz. This is just another of his rants.

Iowalaw, caddy, playmaker, MrE are all dirty 30 alts from da Wasteland. Not sure how JD has let them linger this long....

That's easy. JD needs any traffic he can get. These mouth breathers are the life blood for him. Football intelligence bailed from this board a while ago.

This board is full of buffoons and *** hats.

Think about it. JDM is on the anti-KF bandwagon. He is now overt in his anti-KF articles. He's allowed the "captain clueless"/"Riddick"/etc. crap for months. Who would be more supportive than that crew of?

It's kind of ironic, in a rather humorless vein. JDM is writing articles on KF/results being "very average", citing former players that are all-in on CJB over JR, etc. He is all but claiming superiority on the subject.

What he neglects to point out is how frigging mediocre he, himself, is. As in, getting run from third-rate sports network (BTN) hosting fourth-rate show (WTH WAS that show called?) that got un-measurable viewership. As in, getting replaced by J Leman and Tim Doyle. As in...well, I'm pretty sure you get it.

The results on the field HAVE been mediocre. The quality of this site and most of the sub-human cretins and their sub-human behavior doesn't even approach "mediocre". I remember when this was decent site. Sad what JDM has allowed it to become.

They can have some pretty extreme posts, but I haven't seen them attack other posters.

Yeah, the acme of humility and humanity.

Meanwhile, references like "captain clueless", "kfootball", "Kurt" and "Riddick" point to the genteel side of this board?

I must confess, I used to direct non-Hawkeye friends to this board, with a modicum of pride, when they would ask Hawk-related stuff. I would be embarrassed to do that now. The level to which this board has sunk is borderline frightening. It's to the point I hope KF resigns just to shut the mouth-breathers up. Then, of course, I realize that they'll always be cro-mags and will just find something/someone else to jump.

Don't you think the decline of the site has something to do with the decline of the program? If Jon was still writing about how good of a job Kirk is doing, it would be a lot worse than mediocre writing.

Also Riddick is in reference to a movie character and the people calling him that would probably be doing doing it even if we were undefeated right now. The only difference is people wouldn't find it offensive if Rudock was playing good.

<<Don't you think the decline...??

No. This site wasn't nearly this bad in 2010/2011/2012. Sure, the scud factor existed, but not even CLOSE to the extent it does now.

<<Also, Riddick...>>

Then why didn't the poster (who wore it out by week 4) use it last season? And Rudock, statistically, is certainly not WORSE than CJB who, in his one start, struggled against Purdue. Not OSU. Not MSU. Not Wisconsin. Purdue. Purdue.

That a fan base could--and does--jump on a player the way this pathetic fan base has jumped on JR is awful. This fan base makes $EC fan bases look civilized. It even makes some $EC fans look intelligent. And it gives cause to ponder whether the perception that $EC country is riddled with redneck/bumpkin/inbred folks should be directed more toward Iowa fans.

Probably had nothing to do with the fact that CJ hadn't had anywhere near the reps with the 1's that Jake had over the past 1.5 years. Nah couldn't be that. Oh and Jake really tore it up against Iowa State. Not OSU. Not MSU. Not Wisconsin. Iowa State. A team that has won 5 games in the last 2 years. A perennial cellar dweller in college football. What's pathetic is your constant bobbing on KF's knob, and whining about posters who are fed up with a program that has been in a decline for years. If you don't like what is posted about your beloved Kirk go cry somewhere else. And take buttscootindog with you. Jfc.

I would say the years you stated were different because '09 was fresh in everyone's minds. We have been bad for 5 years now and it doesn't look to be getting better.

I was just guessing on the Riddick part. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe you are. I was just giving a different option as to what it might have meant.

The entire fan base is not jumping on Rudock, just some random one's here and there. Almost the entire fanbase is calling for CJ, but that doesn't mean they are jumping on Rudock.

The 1 game sample size that was plagued with drops is worth nothing. Hard to talk about a player's stats when a quarter of his attempts were drops.

I don't know for sure but isn't CJ's yards per attempt stat higher than Rudock's? That's really the most important stat.
