Willies Gone....again

I will comment when I hear or see substantiation of who said what. If it is Willies changing his mind again then he must not be very focused but I will wait.

Once he left I found it pretty unrealistic that he would ever return. You just don't do that type of stuff to Capt. KF..

No big deal, we don't like that kind of talent here at Iowa, besides we've got Vandeburg.

Willies made every attempt possible of a 19 year old kid to rejoin the team. Unfortunately, he went up against a dinosaur who would rather lose but be surrounded by yes men then apply common sense and spend 30 minute meeting with the kid and allowing him to rejoin the team and begin practicing. Willies saw that the writing was on the wall. He rode the bench this year behind the likes of Vandenberg and other speed burners, and next year he would undoubtedly be in the coach's dog house. Best case scenerio for Willies would be that he could see the field in 2 years, playing for a team that would likely be a pre-season 12th place Big 10 finisher. The coaching staff is simply out of touch with kids. They are too old and too stubborn. They prefer 2 star talent who give 100% every day rather than 4 star talent who might not take each practice snap with the same effort. It is going to be a long year next year. We have literally ZERO WR talent coming back.

You guys can say what you want about him being a quiter and all that goes with it. The fact is it was clear to most he had plenty of talent. Iowalaw is spot on with the assembly it's just Kirk getting further out of touch with the players. He prefers the a&@ kisser over the talented one. Can't wait for Vandy to stretch the field next year, cause he can pop the top off the D... Sick and tired of Kirk and the archaic totalitarian ways....

Whatever the reason, once he said he was leaving I figured he would never be in a Hawkeye uniform again. Too bad. Kid looked like he was loaded with talent.

Agree 100% . Fire Mason, Barta and KF for X Mas.

My opinion is he had no chance of being allow back on the team. I'm sure Kirk considered it a courtesy to even sit down with the kid. God forbid an 18/19 year old kid would make a mistake.

Yeah ,it's not like the kid flunked out or got into trouble with the law. He made a hasty decision because his dad was ill. Good grief Kirk.

Maybe other guys were getting cash under the table and DW just wanted his share and playing time.
