Willies enrolls at Texas Juco

That's how I feel as well. I wish he would have stuck it out at Iowa but can also understand him wanting to play. Maybe Iowa wasn't a great fit for him. I can say there are some other young WR's who I'm excited to see grow. Mainly Scheel.

Was Scheel recruited as "WR" or "ATH"?

He played QB in high school, but was always gonna be a WR at Iowa.

Which is the site to check on past commits? What I meant was, did the services have him as "WR" or "ATH"? I do remember that he was never slated to play QB, so he has practiced at WR the whole time? Maybe HE can be the new KOR and PR, especially if he is good at the "wave off".

I don't think any site is gonna specifically break it down for you that way. Scheel is a recent enough commit that I just remember his recruiting. He was a QB and listed as a ATH. Iowa saw him as a WR, offered him as a WR, so he knew that and was on board with that. Plus he is #86 and listed as a WR on the roster.

Rivals lists him as athlete.

Scout lists him as WR, but the most recent article on him, from 10/31/13, is titled "Scheel's Position Undecided".

The site is here (https://rivals.yahoo.com/iowa/football/recruiting/commitments/)
You can change the drop-down for "Year" to whatever year you wish to look at back to 2002.

And according to Rivals Jay Scheel is listed as athlete. In one of the associated articles (you get to that by clicking on his name) you can see that he played QB in high school but planned on being a WR at Iowa.

Thanks. No Iowa-only sites have this info? Or just back to a certain year? Or is it easier to just google a recruit's name (not in a creepy way, of course!). I really don't follow recruiting. Being in Florida, all I hear about is UF/F$U/Miami/UCF. The local news/sports guys sort of glossed over Kalvin Bailey, Vernon Jackson and maybe one or two others after we won Cap One Bowl, but other than that, it's extremely rare to get anything Hawk-related here except in years like 2009, when most of it was aimed at saying how overrated we were and the computers were probably broken).

next stop baylor! The kid is an athlete. Will he be able to handle college work? None of us know that. However, it doesn't take Bill Parcells to see the athletic ability that he has and that we don't have at wide receiver.

You can also go to the recruiting part of 247Sports and search for a name. If you search on a current pro, you will get three tabs: one with their pro info, one with their college info and the third with their HS info (including their 247Sports rating).
