Will we have the #1 defense in the Nation?

LOL! We are talking about defensive domination according to yards gained. Our defensive effort today was good, but hardly the worst ass whooping ever handed out during a Big Ten game. I gave our pathetic effort last year versus Wisconsin as an example of an even better defensive effort yardage wise.

Any more questions?
No. Follow along. It’s pretty simple.

The OP was using the stat line to guess Iowa could be The #1 ranked defense after this performance.

OP — this season’s season long performance with best statistical Big10 game this season.

complex — last season’s terrible Iowa offense.

OP — this season’s Iowa defense

complex — last season’s Iowa offense

OP — this season

complex — last season

Why is this thread derailed? The happy warm fuzzy topic was supposed to be about whether or not Iowa would have the statistically ranked #1 defense going into Happy Valley next week.
Some people are only warm and fuzzy when they’re bitching about something.

The subject of the 66 yard offensive output vs Wisconsin came up again.

That has probably derailed half a dozen threads this fall and it is not likely to leave the memory for some for a long time.

The exciting thing about it is we don’t lose a whole lot next year. A few on the Dline but more reps for AJE, Chauncey, Lattimore, and Reiff. Not to mention Nixon coming into the fold.

On the back end we only lose Gervase who is solid, but Geno has proved he can play back there. A healthy Hankins and an emerging DJ Johnson for next year as well. The D could be as good if not better next year.

Next years team should be excellent.

And we walloped OSU. On top of that it literally has nothing to do with this top ranked defense that we have this year.

True but some won't let it go. It was as big a fluke as OSU the week before. Someone posted before the Wisconsin game that we could play them ten times and not do any better. It was a stupid post then and it's even more stupid now.

We could easily return 14, 15 starters next year.

Only area that really gets gutted is the interior of the offensive line.

Attended another game today. Anyone know if Nick Niemann was back and playing?
