Will Pitt try to hire Kirk?

You don't actually believe that do you? After four straight (soon to be five?) BCS national championships for the SEC the Big Ten has a long way to go to ever have a higher national sentiment/perception than the SEC.

Absolutly this will be the case, I suspect that we will go 2-1 against the SEC this year. It will be a slow process but the Big Ten will reign supreme in less than 5 years, while other conferences become "diluted" with expansion.

The Pitt AD should be fired if he doesn't at least make the phone call. Unfortunately, for us cyclone fans, it won't matter. So, yes I think that they will try.

He's from there, so the pull of home would probably mean a great deal to him. But...Pitt isn't going to be paying their next coach 3.5 million a year, either.

I'm not sure this "home" attraction is as strong as everyone makes it out to be, especially for people who have succeeded and stayed in other places for a reasonable amount of time. Everybody is from some place -- do most of them want to go back? Doubt it. I had a couple opportunities to return to a decent job where I grew up and as I thought about it it just had no attraction for me.

No shot they even attempt to hire Kirk, If Kirk ask them to go there they wouldn't take him. Much like Iowa Basketball they just got rid of a Coach that was boring as hell, and played just like Kirk they will go up tempo for sure.

Pederson will try and hire Callahan and his marry band of misfit toys to see if he can do what he did at Nebraska.....NOTHING. Why the hell would Ferentz trade the Iowa job for the Pitt job the Big East is a BBall conferenc year after year.

Remember that Pitt comes to Iowa City next year. Ferentz isn't going anywhere, but how weird would it be to see him on the sideline at Kinnick coaching a different team?

The question you have to ask is this...

Let's assume Pitt can make the pay equal.

Does Kirk enjoy being the top story in the state? If he does, than this job holds no appeal, if it doesn't, it holds significant cover for him.
