Eddy and Gatens had an earlier exchange right before a time out.
Eddy came up to tell MG something and put his hand on MG's shoulder. MG shrugged it off... Eddy followed him to the huddle that time as well. MG fequently gave Eddy the 'your and idiot' look that all teenagers can give throughout the game. Guess Eddy didn't like it and took that opportunity to address it. I do beleive Lick should have request Eddy leave the huddle.

Now, all that said, why is it that he and Valentine still get all these premium games around the country and in the NCAA tourny? Obviously, someone, like John Adams, head of NCAA officials,must think they are good refs...are they right or just comfortable with these two goofs?

Premium games? Iowa v Michigan wouldn't be considered a premium game even if both teams were in the MAC.

Lick wasn't asking for an explaination. You could see Lick saying to Eddie "Okay, okay" trying to get him out ofthe huddle.

I'm sure the NCAA will bookmark Eddie's antics but probably not in the way most Iowa fans want. Knowing the tools who run the NCAA officiating office, IMHO the tape of his actions will be shown at all sorts of college and high school clinics as a textbook example of how a veteran official communicates effectively in the heat of battle with players and coaches.
