Why not Iowa vs NIU Game thread

I feel like our defense is good because of who we play. The defense appears to be pretty similar to what we've done this year. We have great plays on defense and we extend the lead pretty well against the worse teams. When we do it against the better teams, we go on a 2-8 point run. Against Syracuse and other teams, we get small runs.
 
Jok's struggles continue, he had 2 fouls and a turnover in his brief stint on the court in the first half. Dickerson looked to be pressing yet again, almost as if he is forcing the issue instead of letting the game come to him. I hope the starters can stretch the lead so Dickerson, Jok, and Uhl can get some extended playing time to get in the flow of the game and gain some experience they won't get once conference play starts and the rotation shortens up. This team is going to need each of them to step up at some point this season. Gaining experience now will help their confidence when called upon.
 
Woodbury has 12 points at 6 boards so far. Clemmons with 11 and White with 10.

Utoff is 0-4 shooting and so is Gesell.

Iowa up 43 to 29 with 15:32 left in the game.
 
FYI...Northern Iowa is tipping off right now on CBS Sports Network (221 Direct TV) against Northwestern in the Cancun Challenge championship game.

We have missed too many shots near the basket so far this season.....

Greg makes up for some of them right now
 
Our post players are having a decent game aside from Uthoff, and our guards aren't playing well aside from Clemmons and Oglesby hitting a couple threes.
 
Despite Josh missing the threes, I like him shooting, as they say shooters have to keep shooting despite missing a few. Of course, consistency is essential at some point in the season.....

Perhaps this team is acquiring the toughness and Bad*** attitude Jon and Wolfgang want to see.....
 
Yeah I like him getting his shots in against a game that is fairly out of hand. But at the same time I would like some of these other younger guys to get in he game. I heard Ellingson is in uniform for this game.

Our guards are awful, including Oglesby. This is going to be a real long year if the guard play doesn't improve. By the way, why is Dickerson getting no minutes????? We are so slow at guard, he HAS to get some meaningful minutes. Fran you recruited him, get him in the game!!!

He has to get the experience before Iowa State, North Carolina and UNI, and then the Big Ten.....

With a lead like this he should get the playing time. We will need his speed. Dom is also in need of playing time.....

Dom seems to have the skills which need to be polished. He can hit a jump shot and take it inside but once again is reluctant to shoot the ball....

We are in deep trouble. Not sure why Fran cannot get Dickerson and Uhl in one at a time with the other starters to help them get into the flow?

20 point lead, put them in with about 6 minutes left.....

Perhaps Frans wants the starters to learn to hold on to a twenty point lead
