Do you think we'd perceive Weisman's performance differently if he had been a 4 star recruit who transferred into Iowa's program and was black?
Do you think more of us would be making comparisons to Shonn Greene? Like Jon, I'm not suggesting Weisman is at Greene's level at this point. But why aren't we hearing more comparisons, at least from us homers on the boards?
Greene didn't exactly have a lot of jukes to his game, either. He read the field and decisively hit the hole, and fast. Seems like Weisman's style, too. And to my untrained eye, Weisman's burst through the hole isn't all that different from Greene's.
They are almost the exact same height and weight, too. At least based on Greene's current listing. He might have been a bit fatter early in the '08 season. Regardless, the players look similar in that regard, too.
Yet we mostly read or hear comparisons between Weisman and a running back who played at Stanford a few years back. If Weisman was black, I don't think that would be the case and everyone would be calling him the next Shonn Greene.
