why redshirt players at this stage? If Fran keeps this program moving in the right direction, he's going to want that schollie open for a better player a year earlier

I think Fran sees that Ingram has the skill to be able to compete for playing time by the B1G schedule. I think that right now Ingram is behind in understanding the offense and that's why he is riding the pine.

Pat will be a contributor to this team. He has great size for his position, plays defense very well, always moving without ball and cutting to the hoop, and he is a good passer. His shot will get better over the course of the season. He is just one more component Fran will be able to utilize. I honestly think he will be a solid weapon and do not think he should have redshirt.

EDIT: Ingram has jumps too.
