Why DC hire has to be a top get!!!

the theory of top get could be a couple things. 1) a big name or 2) the best guy. i hope it is 2) which to me would be aiken. i like him because if wood then becomes dl coach he is one that can mentor him. a big name is just that it isnt the best person for the job. when we hired alford and lick for bball they were the big names out there. parker could get the job but i am not convinced he is the best guy for it. if he gets it i hope he proves me wrong.

Lick was NOT a big name. Some idiots in Iowa City were enamored with Bruce Pearl's recommendation and that stuck. As much as I think Alford is a tool he did get us to the big dance a few times which hasn't happened in years in case you haven't been watching.

Again you may be completely correct since he's on the staff already. I think the sentiment here is that we've seen PP's running of the D last year. It was a failed experiment. Could be KF's undoing.

Aiken would make it more appealing with him coaching the D-L in the pro's the last few years, to maybe get the top rated recruits attention
i still think it will be Stoops
the D-L coaching job is Woods to lose at this point

being a DC for Oklahoma.
then being a HC
i would think he is smart enough to learn from his mistakes
and bring with him the knowledge of why he did not succeed as a HC and use that knowledge to not make the same mistakes again
Oklahoma did win a NC with him being the DC
and has not won another one since he left
another point in his favor is Nebby and OSU were both after him
not exactly mid major schools
