Who's Your "Pleasant Surprise" Player of the Year

anyone who can run a deep passing route and catch the ball more than 20 yards down field (does not include Vandenburg, we know he can do this)

Noah Clayberg (already #2 at SS on 2 deep) and played there 1 week of spring ball.... predict on special teams - maybe return game.

Ryan Boyle - goal line Wildcat QB - this would mean the new OC would be a 'pleasant surprise'.
I like that wildcat QB idea with Boyle. Do it with a double TE formation and let Boyle pick a lane to run or release Fant for a pass.

How about Ben Niemann. We will need him to be great this year and finish those tackles! He's a good athlete, and now a senior. I hope Ben has a great year, and his little bro gets some playing time to get some experience for next year. I heard he is supposed to be a better athlete than Ben.

I was impressed with the Youngs at the spring game. DeVonte and Toren. High hopes for Brandon Smith and Adrian Falconer

Toren the rb will be a key asset. He's a thumper and will come up big.
I could see him getting short yardage touches/red zone ones. I'm interested to see him play more and if he runs hard with his pads low he might get a few more touches than some think.

Devontae Young.
He's an interesting case. There's the group of guys older than him (Vandeberg, Easley and now the kid that's transferring in.) Then there's the freshman corp that's all hungry and about to come in behind him. If he or Falconer are going to make a mark the next few weeks of summer practice may say a lot..
