Who's your favorite Hawkeye?

Currently it would probably have to be Uthoff. Anyone who gets under Bo Ryan's skin and ends a Hawkeye is tough not to like in my book. Plus he's pretty good so far.

Sean Sonderleiter. That guy had a smokin' jumper. Also for one breif moment, Alex Thompson.

The only difference I would make would be to add Horner to the 2000's.....

This team is difficult to pick out a favorite player because they play so well as a Team. I like them all and I know this will create many chortles for me, but I like Josh Oglesby and Zach McCabe just as much as the others....

I loved Eric May his first and last years, and really like to watch Aaron and Devyn along with Mel.....

I agree with you on Horner. He should've been on my 2000's list.

Other honorable mentions from the past include: Russ Millard, Matt Gatens, James Moses, Ryan Bowen, Acie Earl and Val Barnes. (Ok, this is turning into a long list)

Also loved Kent McCausland.. The guy didn't have much athletic ability, but was a deadly shooter. He was a factor in some big games for us.. The win @KU in 1999, and the 2nd round win over Arkansas come to mind.

man, this is a tough questions. There's really no way I could pick just one. Horner, Horton, Armstrong, Lookingbill, Brunner, Evans....the list goes on and on. Matt Gatens would definitely be on any "all time" favorite list, for me anyway.

Currently, White is my favorite....with Mike G and Gabe up there. Hell, I like the whole current squad.

As a kid I liked so many if the hawks, carfino, stokes, Horton, Payne, etc. Liked no a lot too. Him and a couple other senior hawks came to my hometown to play armor hs and auger the game set up on the stage for autographs. Here I am ten years old seeing his larger than life hawkeye right in front of me and I can still remember exactly what he said to me. "Hurry it up, time is money, time is money." Never would have guessed it but exactly what he said.

That was BJ I was referring to. Autocorrect

I remember that game at Kansas. He was on fire, same as the Arkansas game, one of the most intense games I have seen.....

I have Bj and Kevin Gambles autographs. They were in DM to play Drake and were stayiing at the Marriott. My son and I went down to the Marriott hoping we would see them. They were in the lobby watching a Georgetown game. I sent my son over to ask for autographs and they gave him two apiece. At that time they were gentleman, perhaps a bigger stage. The downtown lobby was crowded.....

Wonder if those autographs are worth anything.....

Always loved watching Jeff Horner play. I had the privilege of playing under him at Grand View for a year and he is a great guy and coach. That 2005 team, in general, was a great team full of Iowa kids.

This current team, I really like Mike G. He blew me away with his athletic ability at the the Black n Gold Blowout this year. I'm excited to see how he continues to grow as a PG in the next 2 years.

Carfino, Stokes, Andre Banks and Payne were my favorites growing up, with Jeff Moe quickly becoming #1. Loved it when he'd go on a little streak of three and start pumping the fist. You can see a little Jeff Moe in Josh Oglesby...the spirit is there.

One thing I just realized...until the last couple years, I really didn't have a favorite player (or even considered it), since the Tom Davis years. I didn't have any affection for the program and as a result (right or wrong) for any of the individual players, either.

To answer your question, I think it might be Gabe. It's hard not to love him, isn't it?

In that Arkansas game, I remember being down something like 14 in the second half, and I was thinking "Great, another second round loss". Then McCausland promptly hit's a three on 3 straight trips down the floor to cut it to 5. Bang. New ballgame.

I watch that Iowa/KU game from '99 on YouTube recently and yep, ton of intensity. It wasn't pretty (over 50 turnovers between the two teams) but it was still a great game in a great atmosphere.

My favorite all time favorite is Adam Woodbury. All you haters can KMA!!!!!!!!!!

I play with Lefty, D-cup, One-Knee, and Costanza. Who do you think Jackson plays with?

I have cousins/ scuzzins that live in Augusta and they ran into moe one night out in the town, after my sister pointed out that she thought he was a former hawkeye, I think he's had some business/ legal problems down there. At least that's what the scuzzins said. It's all heresay but that's what I'm here for
