the arrogance of that team contributed to the inevitable collapse. What a shock, no cyfans around. It's not a surprise. They like to run their mouths but when they lose they run away like the girls that they are. In a few days mj will come around with his usual lies of he's been out of town and he knew they were a question mark going into the tournament. No different than when some d-bag troll is here talking stupid he's not around to see it. When a Hawk fan gets banned for mild comments he's not around but when it comes to defending a cyf
an he's right there. take the collective iq of cyfans and you would have to pay someone to get rid of it.

i watched the news last evening and several of their players were interviewed - surprisingly confident was my take. i think that played out today.

I don't think one game constitutes a collapse nor does a brief lack of class from a few players. Upsets like this happen to great coaches and great teams in this tournament all the time, but if true about walking off without shaking hands, that a bad reflection on the coach. Nothing to get too blown up about though.

Brief loss of class? You obviously have not followed the cyclones the past couple years..

Karma is so absolutely great is it not.

ISU was thinking of hanging a NCAA title banner last year because UCONN won it all and Niang had a broken foot.

How did having his 4-15 work out this year against a 15 loss, 4th place in their conference team. Oh by the way they supposedly lost their exhibition game to open the season.

Keep on blowing kisses my friend. When is the billboard going up?

No worries, the talk this year (just like last year) is gonna be all about how much more awesomer they are gonna be next year. It is hilarous that many of them still think this years team is better than last years Sweet 16 team.....Unless they get a transfer who is a team leader, they could do much the same next year. All the talent in the world, but so soft between the ears it ends up bitting them in the AZZ.

The only other question I have is did Naz Long put up his 3 goggles for the UAB coach after missing the wide open, game tying 3 pointer?

Karma baby.

HAHAHA, no kidding, the guy hit every big shot he took last year and this year......Karma is bound to catch up with ya at some time.

The thing it also there are no excuses this year. Two years ago ISU got "robbed" by the officials vs OSU, and if they didn't they would have been in the final 4. Last year if Niang didn't get hurt, ISU fan claims ISU gets to the final 4. This year they got nothing, they just straight up got their azzes whipped by a bunch of NERDS......er a 14 seed.

What really amazed me was that the guy who is supposed to be the superior coach did not know enough to get the ball to Niang and have him drive and dish, instead of trying to force the ball up when he had two, or sometimes even three guys coming after him. I don't care if they lost, but I would like to know what FH was thinking especially late in the game.

Agreed. I would also like to know the back story on BDJ being benched. Nothing to see here guys. Nothing at all to see here...

I want to agree with you on Hoiberg. I really do. Because in public he does come across with an air of class.

But for a coach to allow his players to be such arrogant jerks on and off the court with no apparent discipline, for a coach to (apparently) develop a secret arrangement with the Ames police department to turn players with legal troubles over to coaches instead of processing them in the criminal justice system, strikes me as the opposite of class.

He's an operator, a manipulator. He brings in players who have left or been kicked off other teams, gets them to play well, win a lot of games. Hey, that looks really great for him and for the university.

But I really suspect there's a dark side to his program and to his ethics, frankly. Just my opinion. Sooner or later it will be exposed.

Tweeter, quit sniffing glue. Fred has a system that has worked for him. We'd be lucky to have him at Iowa.

I don't think he's saying Fred is a bad coach or that his system doesn't work. Clearly the results prove that it does. He's been very successful in a short period of time at ISU by taking advantage of transfers. If Iowa had that kind of success by doing the same thing I'm sure Hawkeye fans would be delighted.

I do think tweeter makes some fair points though. It's pretty clear Fred has taken some chances on guys and it's also pretty clear some of those guys lack class. The fact BDJ had to have multiple warnings for something as stupid as noise violations goes to show you the type of peanut-sized brain idiots he's bringing in to try to win basketball games. Fred even went out of his way to meet with those involved in the incidents in order to try to put an end to it before it became a bigger problem (which it did anyways). Don't you think he should have just said "Hey Bryce quit being a moron and show some respect". If BDJ didn't want to listen to his head coach then GTFO of Ames.

Fr. Freddie Flanagan has a system that works at a university and a town so desperate for any sort of success and attention. Do not want him anywhere near Iowa or Iowa City.

Kids do stupid things.....especially in the heat of the moment. Fred will handle BDJ if it needs handled. The 3rd chances Fred has given to some of these kids has worked out for the most part. Knock on wood, but both programs have been relatively scandal free during the tenure of the current coaching staffs.

And trust me......tweeter needs to quit sniffing glue.
