who would you take at RB?

the same question they asked chris martin. who would you take or who would you think is starting by big ten season? I think any of the 3 will do great because they're all talented and the competition will help. but i think jewel is the most explosive player in the iowa backfield.

Brandon Wegher. Not even close in my mind. No slight to the other 2. Wegher can just do more than the other 2 IMO.

By mid-season I don't even think Wegher will be getting carries unless Hampton or Robinson are hurt. Crazy how two people can have such different view points.

Impossible question to answer at this point without having any knowledge of Jewell's recovery.

I would take Robinson over Wegher though.

This statement makes me more confident that Brandon Wegher will be getting a lot of carries by mid-season.

I like BW and think he is really good but there is an overhwlmong love for him over ARob which I don't get. Arob was clearly the better back last year.. but that was last year.

Why? After watching the Iowa bowl game, I wouldn't go near Robinson. I am sure Iowa would have had an extra 10 points if they would have left Wegher in the game and not rotated their backs. Wegher can catch, block, and run, and will actually know some plays this year. He looks to be a bigger back as well(not by much, but still). Wegher for the win, then Marcus Coker as the backup(the kid is a bruiser, and looks like a Shonne Greene clone. He probably won;t play this year, though)

IMO if Hampton is completely healed he is head and shoulders the best back. I can't wait to see how he will perform this year. Robinson was more productive than Wheger last year but I feel that Brandon probably has more potential. All that being said if we keep two of the three healthy we will be in good shape at RB.

Hampton (if completely healed), Robinson (much tougher than Wegher), then Wegher.

Could you please elaborate on this one a little bit more? How do you figure that? Or are you saying he is able to get the tough yards easier?

Wow, really?

How did Robison look against Arizona, PSU, Wisconsin, MSU, etc. I would say 834 yards at 4.6/ypg is pretty good, despite missing two games with an injury. Despite not being healthy in the bowl game (and the last 2 months of the year) he managed 14 carries and 59 yards...not bad. On and Wegher averaged 4.0 on the season...i would recommend you watching more than just a bowl game to make a judgement.

Coker wont see the field unless we have a major injury problem. Nor should he.

Because Robinson was better than Wegher last season, which is really all we have to go off.

this is a very interesting question because in my opinion each of the 3 has a little different style than the other. Jewell is an angry and explosive runner in my opinion, wegher is so versatile with the things he can do and i think has some big play ability, and robinson is so consistent and steady, while he may not be the big play back the other 2 are, he sees the holes very well and is so patient, which u don't see out of many frosh RB's especially who have been back and forth between DB and RB

Just watched this game Saturday night. Both backs looked great but Robinson had some extremely nice runs.

I was thinking the same thing. I've yet to read an opinion from Kaldenberg that makes any sense.

Watch the games. Robinson runs harder, Robinson breaks tackles better, Robinson looks tougher running with the football.

Robinson gave us his heart and soul last season.
