I agree also. These were the names I thought of before even seeing this discussion - except for Evashevski who I am not as familiar with, so I will defer to the previous generations of Hawk fans on this one.

But Gable and Kinnick seem like no-brainers to me, and Fry brought our football program back from the dead, so I'd say he's deserving. Also more wins than any other coach in school history.

That brings me to BJ vs. Marble - don't get me wrong, I love BJ Armstrong and is one of my favorite Hawks ever, but Roy is the school's all-time leading scorer. I'm a bit surprised he isn't getting more support. Maybe his personal issues have hurt him there, and BJ had a better pro career without a doubt.

Acie Earl? No way. Good player, but no way.

More like what they did at Iowa, either as a coach or an athlete. If the coach had to compete for the Hawks, well, there wouldn't be many coaches to choose from (Sharm Scheuerman, Zalesky, and Brands are the only ones that come to mind who both played and coached for us).

I agree with Fry, Kinnick, Gable and Evashevski. My first thought was the same except Ferentz in for Gable, but that would make it all football and wrestling deserves its spot so Gable is a good fit and with Ferentz still coaching one may not consider him eligible.
