I think many of us anticipated a split in NYC, a loss at UNC, split ISU/UNI and a loss on the road at OSU. 10-4 is about right except for how the Hawks played in some of those losses. 10-4, a big conference road win. We beat a team who played a zone for 38 minutes today. Not many Hawk fans would have seen that coming. Hopefully the Hawks gained some much needed momentum and confidence today?

This team kinda reminds me of one of Mr. Davis's teams that would end up being a #8 seed. Not super talented but ran his system well, scrappy, etc. Those teams would get blown out be supremely athletic teams like ISU but would do enough to make the dance.

Correct, this team has no bad losses. It just needs to continue to pick up a quality win here and there, and they will be fine.

I had doubts before this game whether Iowa could do it, but today's game helped restore some confidence. They looked well prepared from a game plan perspective and executed (and made shots) today.

They made shots. That is by far the biggest key. Making shots and winning games like this is the only way a team like Iowa can regain their confidence. That was a big win for a number of reasons. One of which is putting fans in the seats at Carver. Had the Hawks continued to slide it might have been an ugly scene in Iowa City.

This team is so much better when Uthoff plays his A game. If he can become more consistent then I really like the Hawks chances at making the tourney.

I think zoning iowa is the wrong way to play you guys especially with good athletes like OSU has. Offensive rebounding and the guys on the baseline killed OSU in this game.

I don't think Ohio State has played man-to-man all year, unless they had to. Like the last 2 minutes today.

I cannot blame Matta for running a zone against Iowa. Hadn't hit the broad side of a barn all year, guards not penetrating. Kudos to Fran and the players for executing a good game plan.

I did not see this coming with the way we shoot. A great win.

I had them at 10-4 at this point before the season, although I had them beating Cal (who they didnt end up playing) and Iowa State. I had them losing to UNI, UNC, Texas and Ohio State.

At this point I think they're better off than what I predicted though. Those road wins are huge come Selection Sunday. If UNI can somehow beat Wichita State at least once and Iowa State and Texas hold serve in the Big 12 Iowa will be sitting nicely.

Who would've guessed our worst loss so far is against Syracuse.

Completely agree although that big guy really threw Woodbury around and got Gabe into trouble as well.

They made shots. That is by far the biggest key. Making shots and winning games like this is the only way a team like Iowa can regain their confidence. That was a big win for a number of reasons. These next 2 games in Carver are so big for so many reasons. If we can somehow win them both it will help us in so many ways.

1. Confidence. This is a good team that plays average because they have none of it. With it, they could be a good team that plays great.

2 momentum. Last year, Nebraska went on a tear halfway through the conference schedule. It would be nice to do the same thing this year except start it earlier.

3. Atmosphere in Carver. If we start 3-0 it will really hrlp get Carver rocking.

4. Big Ten race. We will have beaten 3 of the teams we are competing with to finish behind Wisconsin. We will be in a better position than anyone else for 2nd place.

5. Getting into the tournament. This one is more important than #4 because it's more realistic. Starting 3-0 against those 3 teams really helps our chances of getting in.

It's amazing what 1 game can do. This wasn't like the north carolina game where even though we won it was hard to put much stock into it. Today we looked like a team that can make a run.
