Who gets further in NCAA tourney: Sparty or Iowa?

Straight up talent and how both teams are playing right now, I'd say the Hawks have a better chance of advancing and getting into the Sweet 16. Unless both teams figure a way to take it up a notch when the games get tight and fend off an attacks instead of bending over. You have the McKay head factor and no deptch for ISU which IMO will kill ISU early. Teams will quickly attack Georges and McKay who have no back-ups. Iowa needs to figure a way to get MG more aggressive offensively, instead of bouncing up and down out front dribbling the ball looking for magic to happen. Teams will also be coming at Uthoff and try to bait him into making fouls and get him out of his rhythm. If Uthoff can elevate his game during the tourney and Jok continues his hot shooting during tight situations Iowa could go deep. Uhl, Adam and Clemmons will all need to be productive.

Hard as it is to admit, MSU is easily the better team right now and likely will be heading forward. Valentine is a premier player and better than anyone on Iowa's roster. Certainly don't want to see a rematch. In fact, I'm not sure Iowa is a first division B1G team right now given the inconsistency we've seen over the past several games. Can they return to form or did the team simply peak earlier in the season with minimal chance for a full rebound? At this point I will be surprised (and very pleased) if Iowa makes it past the second round of the NCAA tourney. Meanwhile, MSU is a legitimate Final Four contender.

MSU gets a higher seed in the Dance and makes it to the Sweet 16. Iowa loses in Round of 32.

I really hope I am wrong, but the Mojo isn't there anymore. It's like the Sports Illustrated Curse claimed another victim. Luckily I don't believe in curses.

C'mon Hawks, prove me wrong.

It will depend Entirely on the officiating. If they let players play, and not get mugged - like the beginning of the year - then Iowa. If they call it like they have the last several weeks - then MSU.

Question on officiating, has anyone observed what & how they have been calling fouls outside the B1G on the east and/or west coasts? It is usually more open, and less tolerant on hand checking, mugging and the like. But it does vary

If we would have won both games this week, we would be 3rd or 4th again. All sorts of carnage this week.
