Can't stand the coach in waiting. I am a HS fb coach. My brother is a HS fb coach. 2 other brothers that were pretty good HS fb players. Took my dad to game Saturday (ISU v Western Ill) and he is the one that taught us almost everything we know. Guy beside him asked if this was his first time at game this year. Dad said yes and the guy spent the first quarter telling him what was going on every play. Finally, a little ways into the 2nd q, the guy was yelling that the OL wasn't blocking and complained to my old man about that, at which point dad replied that it looked like the OL got a pretty good push and if the guy watched the replay he would see that Jantz made a bad read and it was the unblocked guy that made the play. Guy shut up and didn't say a word rest of game. Not sure I could have been as polite about it as dad was.

i went to game one time and has to sit behind guy who forgot his belt and my wife couldn't stand looking at his hairy crack. She didn't enjoy the game.:rolleyes:Thats pretty annoying.. we expects to enjoy our date and the game but that was a spoiler...

Well, I have NO idea who this 'know-it-all' person is... If I did would I BE that know-it-all? Kind of a paradox, is it not? Now, I realize that the entire 'paradox' concept might be a bit much for the folks in the cheap seats to grasp (the 47% of you free-loaders), so look it up in your "Big-Bird" dictionary. I will get a nice glass of wine while you sound out the word... (tick tick tick...) Done? Good. I am ALL about educating the great, unwashed masses...

OH, and less I forget, Iowa WILL win this weekend! (SHOCK!)

No, professor, that is not a paradox. A paradox would be saying, "I'm a know-it-all, even though I don't know what that means". The situation you described is a logical fallacy called "base rate neglect", because even if you knew "who this 'know-it-all' person is", we don't know what you know or don't know to begin with, which would make it impossible to determine if you're a know-it-all.

You just got logic burned son.

GhostofBTT... "You just got logic burned son. "

Paradox
1. a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth. 2. a self-contradictory and false proposition.
3. any person, thing, or situation exhibiting an apparently contradictory nature.
4. an opinion or statement contrary to commonly accepted opinion.

You would not understand logic if it took a dump on your sorry fro, bro.... Now go play with your Lego's... Schmuck...

Easy, you can ignore internet tough guy. Guy at the game can ruin your experience and there's not much you can do about it.

Ok, even with the definition you posted, your proposal is still not a paradox. It is not self-contradictory (I provided an example of what a self-contradictory paradox was). I don't get the point you're trying to make by posting that and being a dick, besides making yourself look bad.

For the record, behaving ignorantly while insulting the intelligence of others is ironic, not paradoxical.
