Which ex-Hawk does Basabe remind you of?

If he had gone to Sienna they may have been in the dance, you think he would have dominated that conference.

I love watching this guy and thinking he reminds me a little of Gerry Wright Sir Jam a lot b/c he is so athletic.

Right now, I would say Doug Thomas, but in a few years, I think he will blossom into a player similar to my number 2 all-time favorite Hawk (behind J. Moe), Wade Lookingbill.

This is about the closest. I don't think you can compare him with any one ex-hawk player.

This is spot-on, Basabe is unlike anything Iowa has seen for a long time. I like the Ray Thompson comparison, but they are different players. Ray would have been scary good under Fran, but Basabe is a true post, so his overall skills are no as developed at this time. The more I think about this, he is a little bit of many former players, but when his career is over, we will be asking who will be the next Basabe. He is a player that is unique. James Winters type comes to mind too, Basabe is bigger and more athletic. Winters developed over time and had good ball-handling skills when he left, he developed a jump shot as well.

Completely forgot about Bosh playing for Iowa.

He reminds me of Tate's senior season.

He did play AGAINST Iowa.

I didn't know Basabe was a QB. I didn't need to clarify that Chris Bosh played for GT and not Iowa because it is common knowledge, just as in you didn't have to clarify you were talking about Cyrus and not Drew.

as a freshman, Basabe does not really remind me of any Hawk in the last 30 years. He has better skills around the basket than anyone I can remember for being so young. let's hope he can dodge the sophomore slump that has hit Eric May this year. also that he keeps his academics up to standards. He may have miss that two handed dunk in one of the last games, but more than made up for it with the catch he made to the right of the rim and the subsequent jam he threw down after a slight adjustment in mid air. this kid is the real deal and can only get better.

His rebounding, determination, and squaring up to the hoop remind of a young Settles. I think Basabe could be a true force in the Big ten.

Gerry Wright, also known as, Sir Jamalot- I like how Wright and Basabe both attack the goal and go for dunks!
