Where would you rank Iowa

Well...I think that Blake Shelton concert will be a fine time to hang a banner/pass out title rings after our College football playoff championship! hahaha!

(Side note: If this were to happen....you can bet your bottom dollar this post will be brought back up)

I get the sense I did in 09....the national pundits don't know quite what to do with us when we keep winning.

In 09, people were very reluctant to include Iowa in any BCS champ game discussion and were probably collectively relieved when NU beat us.

I can see the same thing happening this year....considering we're in the B1G West, etc. It'll be interesting to see how it all unfolds if we keep winning.

I think 17 is about right and if they beat NW 10-15 is their landing place for the rest of the year barring a loss at IU, which I could really see. I still see 10-2.

I'd probably go something like this:

1) IOWA

2) Mich State

3) Ohio

4) Texas Christian University

5) Baylor

THANKS for asking.............Notice...........NO SEC teams in my Top 5...........cheats

The other 3 seasons that we won in Ames (2003, 2009 and 2013), we went to the Outback Bowl, twice and the Orange Bowl, once.
Outside of 2002, it's an amazing accurate barometers on the over/under of wins being 7, whether we win or lose against Iowa State.

At first after the game I thought they'd go up 2 or 3 spots to 20th. I didn't think the media was going to jump us as high as 17th since beating IL at home by less then the spread wouldn't have been looked at as such an impressive win.
After the NW Michigan game I really don't know what to think about NW now... I don't think they are as bad as that score said. I think after the kickoff return and that crowd being into it an Michigan playing smart it was just a snowball they couldn't stop. At home against us I don't see it being anything other then a close game one way or the other.

I don't know how you can say they're unproven. They are battle tested and have found ways to win.

Battle tested against unranked teams. Wisky is their best win right now and they just struggled against a poor Nebraska team.

I'd put them in the 20-25 range. Look at teams 10-20. I wouldn't bet on Iowa in any of those games.

10: Bama
11: FSU
12: Michigan
13: Ole Miss
14: ND
15: Standford
16: Ok St.
17: Iowa
18: UCLA
19: Oklahoma
20: Northwestern.

Screw just measuring on rankings. Up until now a handful get into & leave the rankings on a weekly basis. What about going against the Pitt D? Playing Wisky at their place? Wisky was ranked when Iowa beat them. Now Iowa beat them so they really never deserved to be ranked??? I don't agree with your logic. Iowa has had just a formidable non-conf schedule as other teams at this point and has showed success & balance. You can't just look at records. How can you say Nebraska is a poor team, because they have all the L's behind their name. They have had unprecedented bad against the numbers luck and are 11 points away from being undefeated. Yes, some on the coaches. As much as I enjoy watching their dismay, they have had bad luck losing those games in the last 10 sec of the game. You just can't say Nebraska is horrible. You also can't say Iowa isn't untested.

Wisky was ranked based off of last years merits. As we get deeper into the season, the ranking become more and more based on this year. So yes, I don't believe Wisky was ever a Top 25 team. Their best win this year is 2-4 Nebby and their SOS is currently 72nd.

Horrible may be a little rough when describing Nebraska. But they haven't won a meaningful game.

Pitt is a Top 50 team that we needed an insane field goal to win. Though I do feel we dominated that game.
