Where to Tailgate this Saturday

OK I need some help as to figuring out where to park/tailgate before the game Saturday. I will be getting to Iowa City around 8am.

I would appreciate plus and minus for each listed option. Other suggestions would be great as well.

I am thinking Hawkeye Express Lot....Yes or No?

Lot T - Hawkeye Commuter....Yes or No?

Lot U - Hall of Fame Parking Lot...Yes or No?

Lot J - Finkbine Commuter Lot....Yes or No?

Lot K - Finkbine Golf Course....Yes or No?

Thanks in advance. Go Hawks! Let the mission begin!

I park in the lot in front of the court house behind the Kum N Go off Burlington. A little bit of a walk (over the river, across Riverside, past Slater and Renouw and then through the Fieldhouse), but it is free, and laid back, which I like during the pre-game. Feel free to join us!

7 a.m. is better, you don't want to miss the party!
If it was up to me I would get there at 7am. Its the people I am traveling with from Ankeny that makes that hard if not impossible. Is it going to be hard to find a parking spot in my listed options above if we get to Iowa City between 7 and 8 probably closer to 8 than 7? :)

What is the walk like from there to Kinnick?
Lot opens at 7 a.m. There will be a long line of cars waiting to get in, so I would try and arrive around 7.

The walk isn't bad at all, especially when it's 75 degrees outside. I would say about 12 to 15 minutes. It's an easy walk though. You'll walk by a lot of fun and interesting things, including other tailgaters as well as the Hawkeye Village area.

Whoever gave me a "negative" rep comment for misspelling "renouw" (notice I just did it again) is a complete tool. Get a life DB.

Go Hawks!

Myrtle is a fun LOT, also you can park there the night before. Id get there before 7am though, first game is always crazy as Hawkeye fans have been primed for months for Saturday. also a University Lot at $15. You can also park at the church which is kitty corner from the lot.

According to a thread from a couple weeks ago, you now need a swipe card to get into the FH.

Myrtle is fun and loud, but if that's full, we park in the Library Lot across the river. The Fieldhouse being blocked will add a few more minutes to that walk. Oh well...better bring another beer or two.

Don't scold me about the new rules, I don't believe they will enforce things any different before games. They will write PAULA's and arrest the idiots, but that will be about it IMO.

After the games they will crack down on the one hour drinking limit and the parking time. That's when they will bring the HAMMER.

I agree, the University police were ****** off about this because as it is they dont have the man power...

If I were rolling into town that late, I'd park in the lot Hawkeyestate is talking about and then if you want rowdiness hit up the Myrtle lot on your way to Kinnick.
