That was another game in which Tate played very well. He "pwned" Brackins on the defensive end.

Even Brommer, as a true frosh, played Brackins well in limited minutes that year.

UNI was no where near an NCAA tournament team before the Valley regular season started last year. Something clicked during MVC play and they became a much better team.

just that the competition level dropped when they got in the Valley. Probably reality is somewhere in between. UNI got on a roll and played well. Then they played Purdue and got behind by 14 before making it close at the end.

I am a huge fan of the Valley and you will get no argument out of me that the conference was down last year. However, UNI just became a MUCH better team as the season progressed. They had a back court of Aleghbe who was coming off a redshirt season, Moran was a freshman, and Ali was a first year JUCO. So they had the young excuse, but this was a team that was floating around .500 in the pre conference season with losses to UIC and Wyoming.
