Where does Lick end up

Maybe we don't care, but where do you think Lick ends up?

I'd say he takes some time off to get healthy and then goes the mid-major route again.

I don't think a major program would take a chance on him with the baggage he has from this mess.

He might end up as an assistant somewhere. I just don't see him getting any kind of job that wouldn't be dissatisfying to him. He really messed up his career.

I mean do you see him coaching at some other mid-major and feeling satisfied? He could go coach at a Bradley or a Valpo and all he would be thinking is that it isn't Butler.

Gotta kind of respect Dana Altman on this one. The guy had his shot at a major conference spot and had the second thought of what life would be like if he didn't succeed. He then looked in the mirror and said, "Wait, my life is good right now and will continue to be as long as I stay."

UNC-Charlotte just fired their HC (Bob Lutz) yesterday.
Perhaps Lick will bring his "system" to the Queen City?
:(

Altman had his shot at a major conference spot?? He left a major conference spot and had success there when he left Kansas State to go to Creighton. He just likes the small college job better.

Lick may end up back at Butler after Stevens gets his shot at a big time job in the next year or so.

Altman accepted the job at arkansas a couple years ago, but then he backed out and decided to stay at Creighton

I know but he was already coaching in the big time conference before he came to Creighton. The other poster said he backed out of his opportunity to coach in the big leagues. Which he did back out of the Arkansas gig but he was already in the big leagues 16 years ago when he left KSU to go to the minors.

I'm thinking a small, conservative college -- possibly one affiliated with a church -- somewhere in the Midwest.

IMO he'll chill for a year with the $ and find a good fit for him to stay a while.

During that period does he become a "contributor" on the Big Ten Network? I wondered about that. But from what I've seen from the distance he doesn't have the charisma or personality for TV.

Someplace like Air Force or Princeton where they need to play a slow, intelligent and disciplined style to overcome their opponent’s athleticism.

Dancing with the Stars next season. Tries his hand at the Apprentice. Watching paint dry.

Seriously, my guess, in Hawaii thinking very deep thoughts.

Then, resurfacing in another mid major job.

I heard he is taking the 8th grade basketball opening at Iowa City Regina

I would put money that Butler would not hire Todd back. A good number of Butler posters were happy when he left and warned us of the communication and substitution oddities under Todd

Lick-ball wouldn't work at Princeton, which relies on down cuts and up blocks to free the cutter for an easy layup or short jump shot. Much of the offense runs through the center. For the basketball purist, it's a thing of beauty.
