Where does Aaron Kampman go?

He was very productive as a DE for the Packers, but with the knee injury and the shift to the 3-4, that he hasn't handled as well as planned, where does he go? I don't believe the Packers are going to keep him, very unfortunate I might add, with all of their young LBs.

As a hawkeye and packers fan it hurts to say this but the Packers and Kampan are better off apart.

I hope he gets out of the NFC North and maybe even better go to the AFC so I can root for his success.

I am 100% right there with you. I've met Kampman a few times and he is as nice a guy you will ever meet. It's too bad to say that he doesn't fit the Packers 3-4 system, but he doesn't.

I've been reading that my Giants are really interested in him.....I hope they sign him.

On a side note the Giants gave Scott Chandler a 1 year deal today.

Green Bay doesn't want him or why would they go to a 3-4 def..Dumb move on there part.IMO

Kampman played some linebacker at Iowa if I remember correctly...they were certainly not trying to run him out of town when they went to the 3-4...on the contrary I think they saw Kampman as one of the biggest assets they had in making the switch to 3-4.

Dom Capers is one of the masterminds of the 3-4 zone blitz scheme....it was never going to work from day one. Kampman like Mitch King, Matt Roth were simply too slow to play LB. So with his motor, Parker decided to put some lead in the trunk and make him a d-lineman. I think Kampman is stil chasing J.J. Moses on that reverse in 2000.

Now Clay Matthews on the other hand fits exactly what they are trying to do. It is Clay Matthews? I get him and the dude with the Texans mixed up.

Yes it is Clay Matthews, and they have another rookie LB that was coming on at the end of the season. I think Kampman was going to be done in Green Bay even if he didn't get injured.

Hopefully the Bears.

If Chicago could somehow get Kampmann, Peppers, and Boldin that would make me oh so happy.

Kampman will go to the Bears...unless the Bears can sign Peppers.
Kampman's knee could be a problem, however, and keep otherwise interested teams away.

Anything else you want? Jeez

If you pay Peppers $100 mil you arent going to get the other guys unless the Bears were recently bought by Daniel Snyder and he has decided to spend $160 mil this offseason

Now it looks as though Peppers to Washington is a done deal!
Sorry Bears fans. Good luck with Kampman. Maybe you can sign
Antrel Rolle or Anquan Boldin.

Veteran DE/OLB Aaron Kampman is still in recovery from the knee injury that ended his 2009 season, but that hasn't stopped the speculation on whether or not he'll be back with the Green Bay Packers for 2010 and beyond. Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press-Gazette thinks the team would be foolish to let him go for a number of reasons, but it's still unclear whether that opinion is shared by the team's management.

In all likelihood, if he leaves he'll be headed back to a team that runs a 4-3, where he can go back to his natural position as a rush DE in that scheme. He had mixed success with his conversion to a 3-4 OLB in 2009. Previous speculation from various sources had him linked to the Bears, Jaguars, Lions, Seahawks and Titans.

Update: On Thursday, Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times relayed word from a source that the Eagles might be heavily after Kampman. He would be a nice consolation prize if the team doesn't land Julius Peppers. Suppose that applies to all of the teams that want Peppers.
