When will these kids learn to avoid Facebook? (Mbakwe - Minnesota)

Re: When will these kids learn to avoid Facebook?

Looks like ISU may have just figured out the solution to their depth problem.

Big break for Purdue if Mbkwe cannot play. Hope he is out for Iowa.

Re: When will these kids learn to avoid Facebook?

I'm by no means a Facebook expert, and I'm not defending the kid's actions of harrassing an ex-girlfriend by posting on her Facebook page, but I thought only "Friends" can post on your Facebook wall or send you Facebook messages? Couldn't the ex-girlfriend just have de-friended the guy she had a restraining order against so that he could not view or post to her Facebook page? I could be wrong or maybe the guy was posting via someone else's account. I just thought that only "friends" were allowed to send you messages.

Someone does not have to be a friend for you to send them a message, but you can set your privacy settings to only allow friends to post on your "wall."

The only way to stop people from sending you messages that aren't your friends is to block them, which she could have done... And for someone who doesn't want any contact with someone... You would think she would have done that. That part doesn't make sense.

To answer your question, yes, it is definitely possible to keep someone from sending you a message or writing on your wall if you really don't want them to. It isn't that hard either.

Re: When will these kids learn to avoid Facebook?

Looks like Joel Maturi and Tubby Smith are in Mbakwe's court and are allowing him to suit up for the Purdue game.

Re: When will these kids learn to avoid Facebook?

How many more chances is Mbakwe going to get?!

No doubt.
I am a high school coach and it is funny to hear other's stories about how they have had to suspend kids for things on Facebook.
One told her coach to check out a picture of her dog or cat or a pet of some sort and forgot that there were pictures of them and all the friends drinking...oops.

I just wish ISU could have some dignity inside their athletic department. all I see in the news is "ISU player charged for running a drug house", "ISU player rape trial finally going to happen now that it isnt football season", "ISU player transfers because he failed too many drug tests" , "ISU player rolling in a cheech and chong van gets busted while suspended for bowl game". man, they REALLY need to clean things up over there in Ames!

oh, wait....
