When will Barta be fired?

It's dumb to fire someone just because a jury is wrong.
You are correct unfortunately your comment doesn't pertain to Gary Barta. Barta's incompetence in simple procedural performance reviews cost the University another $1.43M that could have been better suited for all kinds of stuff i.e. pay the Strength and Conditioning Assistants a little bit...maybe pay the minor sports coaching staff's a bit more. Who knows Barta needs to go because he is NOT good at his job.

I'mnot saying anything is certain. I'm saying it's possible that everyone around her agreed she was horrible at her job. If that's the case, Barta did nothing wrong.
Yes he DID he didn't document her attitude and how that related to being able to work with multiple coaching staffs. GB was so incompetent that he didn't realize he needed to document the subordination so despite the jury getting it wrong it got it correct with the proof presented. Nice going Gary you need to adios!

PCH has issues. Better to pity him than debate him.

I agree. Lightning pointed that out earlier and I agreed with him as well.

can we start a pool?

I wonder if the real reason for the petition to delay the next trial includes negotiation on Barta's departure as part of the settlement. If they are serious about "improving the environment" in the AD's office, then his forced departure should be worth more to them than money. Right now, I imagine the university would prefer to save a few million than save Barta.

Barta has been really bad at thinking through implications on some basic things I would guess that Iowa's best move here is to axe Barta tough way for him to go out and i'm not a Barta fan. At that level of pay you just need to have your S T together better. If you don't have the balls to discipline bad direct reports and adequately put them on performance improvement plans in this day and age you have NO business being at the helm of ANYTHING.
