When Rutgers comes to town this fall

Not even eyes on the TV. It's people who were swindled in some package of channels that they don't want. The revenue comes from people who get a package of channels, 90% of which they don't want or watch, but still have to pay for it.

Not really the case, IMO. People would seek out packages and stations like the BTN. Companies would lose people for not having the BTN. That is the reason I left Mediacon years ago when the BTN started. They weren't including it in any package which was right before the season started. I along with many others bolted to satellite and never looked back. This is not the same as including a bunch of no name channels in a package. This is the opposite of that.

A depressing picture of the black out at Rutgers last year

Teams with scarce attendance should not be doing "Black outs" or "Red Outs". You can actually see the red seats more than anything. Looks pathetic.

I wish Delaney would have booted Penn State when they had the pedophile scandal and then added Pitt to pour salt into the wound. Instead, the entire B1G is forever tainted by that scandal.

You're referring to people that want to watch the BTN, I'm referring to people who don't want the BTN but pay for a package that it's included in. How big of a following does college football have in New York compared to how many people that live there? Basically none. Remember when Gameday was in Times Square? What a disaster. Adding Rutgers didn't add eyeballs to the Big Ten, it added the revenue of cable companies where people don't want to watch BTN but pay for it anyway. Rutgers doesn't have a large fan following but it's in an area with a huge population of paying customers.

This thread shocks me. I had no idea Rutgers had fans that traveled out of New Jersey. Mind Blown!!!

Adding Rutgers paid off... for the conference, but it watered down the product. Now what everyone has is a warm up game for whom ever you play the week following. Consider it an extra bye week I guess.
