Like when does the reality set in that the wait is finally over and the season has arrived? Is it spring camp, spring game/practice. B1G media days, players report to camp in Aug., iowa media days, the friday before, hearing dolph and eddy on the radio for that first time, or actual kickoff? Or anything else?

For me its when I turn to 1040 on the radio and hear that music and dolphs voice somthing like "the wait is finally over, and the season is here."

After the first "Fire Kurt" thread...usually after we punt inside our own 40 for the first time.

Big Ten media days kicks off the season for me. Practice usually starts a couple days later, then suddenly its the opening kickoff.

So you have no clue the seasons started until a message board tells you?

Yep, that brief, momentary chill. It's there and then its gone, but you feel it, and I swear you can smell it to. Smells different than spring air at the same temperature. Then I have to force myself not to just start drinking, because the game isn't for like, usually a couple more weeks. It's all I can do until I hear the Boom.

I think it won't kick in until I am blackout hammered in the bleachers at Wrigley Aug 31. I will then realize it is football season and I will take a nap to prepare.
