What's Your Personal Kinnick Streak?

I live in Des Moines and have attended 204 of the last 207 home games. Since the beginning of the 1977 season, I have missed two games to attend funerals and one to attend my daughter's soccer tourney in Missouri.

204 of 207 is impressive! I hope I can match that someday.

I started season tickets in 2001. I missed the 2002 ISU game for a wedding, and the 2007 Syracuse game for a wedding. Like FromFry2Ferentz, I don't plan on missing any more. Fark the weddings.

I missed the EXACT same two games for weddings! WTF?!

I have only bought season tickets for the last two years. Before that I just depended on whether or not my sister let me go with her on one of her extra tickets. So I went to all the games in 2007, most in 2008 and the Outback Bowl, and all of 2009 and the Orange bowl. Last year, during the game, they had some 70 year old lady at the stadium that was fan of the game and she hadn't missed a home game since 1965!

My oldest daughter announced this past May that she was engaged. I told her that was great...but the date couldn't be between the first of September to the middle of January...because I couldn't guarantee that I'd be there. I was serious! She said she knew that...so it's a spring wedding. :D

My oldest, 23y, isn't the one we talked about earlier in the coker thread. It was the 20 year old. This game, my oldest daughter is coming along and so Mr. Freak. I also gotta pay a premium for my two youngest kids to stay at the HawkDrop at the Iowa Childrens Museum for the day.

Not my streak, but my buddies parents have had season tickets since the 70's and until this year (moved to Zona) had only missed about 2 games at Kinnick, and attended most of the Road games

Ok. These streaks are pretty impressive. But I've got to be the first to say that going to that many consecutive games doesn't sound like too much fun to me. Yes, I have season tickets, and yes I love going to the games and love the environment in Kinnick. But I cant stand half the people that go to the games and that drives me frickin bonkers. Especially the know it all's that bash the coaches the entire game because they know what's best. Or the guy that after every big play acts like he was the one that called it. I also like to watch from the comfort of my home sometimes. Or someone else's home with some chili and beer. Like I'm going to do today. And I'm always pretty busy and like a weekend to relax. It's not easy work getting ready for a tailgate and all that's involved with traveling up for the game.

Have missed one game since 1985 for sons soccer tourny.(Mich won in last minute) 4 of the seven in our group have similar stats. The 3 that dont are our children that we have added and they havent missed any in the last 8 years.

Bu I DID call it! :D

Really, I've only "called" a couple plays in the last 2 1/2 years. The only big play was Shonn Greene's 52-yard TD run against Wisconsin. I watched the safety come up to show blitz and thought if Greene hit that hole, he was gone. As soon as he made the cut into the hole, I just screamed, in my best Gary Dolphin impression, "TOUCHDOWN IOWA!!!!!"

So I called it haha.
