What's the story with Cartwright?

I don't dislike him personally. I just don't think he's worth a crap at pg. I know he led the conference in assists and am fully aware of his stats. But I still don't think he starts for another team in the Big 10 and there is a reason he was available so late. Nobody wanted him. He can't shoot, he can't play defense, and he's not a great athlete. He wastes motion when dribbling on fast breaks. I think for Iowa to get over the hump they need a PG who is at least decent.

Same for ISU, so don't think this is related to just Iowa. ISU needs a legit PG as well. Hopefully Allen can be servicable the remainder of they year and Lucious will be solid next year

I guess I did not pay close enough attention last year. I was rarely able to even catch a game so I can't really comment on his abilities all that much, but from what I did see... I thought he was good at handling the ball and passed well.

I definitely think Iowa is better with him than without him. We really need another true PG on the team... because I can't stand when they put in Stubbs. I don't like to call out players, but I just don't see him contributing.

Sometimes I wonder if I could have made the team. ;):p:D

In all seriousness though... I really think a healthy Cartwright helps a lot. Just my opinion though and I already admitted that I haven't seen a lot of these guys play as much as I'd have liked. Been able to catch a good number of the games played so far this season though! :)

Here we go........any discussion of Cartwright brings out all the haters who have to put their so-called basketball intellect on display by telling us how horrible BC is.
Even the trolls from clown-land have to get in on it.
BC has a sore hamstring. Those are tough to predict how fast they will heal. Time will tell. But in the meantime, lets all bash him.

I don't expect many people to agree with me on him. I get that.

Also, I'm not trolling. I say the same thing about ISU's PG play. It's not good enough right now for us to be good.

Interesting, isn't it, that clowns were the first two posters in this thread?

Wish Cartwright was able to go Friday night but it looks extremely doubtful. OK with Marble running the point; thought he did reasonably well against UNI considering that's not really his position.

Iowa isn't going to beat Iowa State at HILTON with or without Cartwright anyway. In fact if Iowa State doesn't win by 25 points, that's just plain embarrassing. The talent level matchup is on 2 different ends of the spectrum it isn't even funny. If ISU loses tomorrow, Fred Hoiberg should be fired. This would be the worst loss in ISU history at Hilton.

Last season, a more talent Iowa team than this season lost to a less talented than this season Iowa State team at CARVER last year. Iowa lost to CAMPBELL at HOME this year!!!

Let's not go that far. It would be an embarrassing loss, but I'm sure there have been worse.
