What Would You Ask Kirk Ferentz?

I look at this season and have seen maybe more dramatic change in the level of play from the NDST through the Penn State game to the last 3 games of the year. My question would be, what happened? How did the seem suddenly seem to click to beat Michigan and destroy Nebraska?

But, it you have a system where you are pretty solid at line and on defense, a "manager" QB may be all you need to get the balls to playmakers and not turn the ball over. Many of Iowa's QB's benefited from great defenses and managed games well, opposed to having to be playmakers.
That's true. It seems like since Banks (that just fell in their laps) They have gone away from the duel threat type of QBs and prefer the guys that can distribute the ball around. I thought Vandenberg was a great QB that got hosed with having to have Davis for his SR year. He deserved so much better than that. A guy like Tate I think made him pull his hair out half the time. I'd like to know KFs two cents on the Drew Tate years I guess with the ups and downs of that time too

Have you unblacklisted DJK?

What is the astride thread about?

How does he measure Greg Davis against other O-coordinators? By height?

Coach Ferentz, (can I call you Kirk?) why do you not go to message boards more to get expert advice on what is wrong with your program and how to fix it? Have you ever thought about spending Sundays reading post on HN before game planning the next team (or before heading out on a recruiting trip), as the anonymous posters there have a very high football IQ, are experts on scheming (pretty much experts on everything), have 'learned the game', and are never wrong. Utilizing these prodigious pundits seems like a no-brainer to me......

I thought we were crazies. Learn the game, man.

So, if I understand this ... Iowa isn't the predictable ones, the opposing defenses are because they frequently line up in a formation - with a certain front, spacing - that is vulnerable to attack by a stretch run to the short-side.;) Not like they're baiting Iowa into a phone booth with shifted coverage and using the sideline as a 12th defender in run support or anything like that. Huh, no wonder it's so successful.

Scratch that question off the list. LOL - I threw it in out of cynicism; someone actually asked it with a legit intent.
