What would turn around the season.

Short of winning out, beat Michigan, Illinois and Nebraska, and win the bowl game, a la 2008 season, where the Hawks beat No. 3 Penn State. I have no idea, none, how they'll accomplish this, but I'm just offering my free, unsolicited advice on what it would take to make Hawkeye fans feel good about this year. Good luck, Hawks. I'll leave the details up to you.

Only by winning out and I'm not even sure we have a chance at Indy any longer. So if it's just the last 4 games that gets me close to a turnaround but not quite. If we could go to Indy and win it, then that turns it around for me and then the bowl game is a plus at that point. Michigan and Nebraska wins would be awesome but we'd be looking back to NDSU and the Mildcats wondering how we lost those and still be disappointed.

IMO there is only one way to make up for losing at home to an FCS opponent. That would be winning at least two games nobody gives you a chance at winning. In Iowa's case that would be the Michigan game in primetime and then somehow getting to the B1G championship game and winning that as well.

Turn around??

What the hell you talkin 'bout Willis?

We are on track for a winning season. You whiners need to get with the program and realize that we're just a dumb hick school in the middle of a cornfield with no recruits nearby. We'll never be Wisky or Nebraska or MSU. And I'm offended when anyone says we should even try and be Ohio State or Michigan. Nothing angers me more than lofty goals. I certainly don't have any for my children. Straight Cs are the same as As in my book. It's about tailgating and stability and classiness and watching heroes tear-up on TV. Sheesh!!

The least amount is two more wins which might be Nebby and Illini. Nebby is beatable. Beat PSU also and finish with 8 wins and two stupid losses and it is maybe just above average, A great effort agaisnt Mich yes, if we beat them that is a miracle huge upset the way this offense and whole team looks right now.

Just to think we may look back at only having 10 men on the field for the first punt against jNW to where this season really starting going downhill.

Repeating as West champs. We returned 14 starters from a 12-0 regular season team. Now, if we win out I would be happy. Personally, I think UM is this close to being the NC favorite. That would be my consolation prize to not winning the West, but only if we end up 9-3.

Man before the season I thought 9 wins was the floor for this team... So now that 8 wins seems like a long shot I'm not so sure I can come around to the idea of this season turning around... Would I be fired up if they could finish strong winning 3 of 4 like some have mentioned? I sure would. But good god almighty I don't see it happening and I'm having a tough time getting my hopes up.

Shouldn't we just be happy with a participation medal and that Kirk is a stupendous human being?

^^^^^ Win 3 of the last 4 regular season games AND win the bowl game. If they find a legit productive WR in the process, then there can be some optimism heading into 2017.

Have to disagree on Michigan. Not a National title threat at all. They would have lost at home to Colorado had their starting quarterback not went down. They have played seven games and only one has been on the road. (Rutgers)
Michigan plays a Freshman at QB. Michigan would be no match for Alabama. Michigan is a 24.5 favorite at Michigan State this week. Could be interesting...

Uh.....Bama plays a freshman QB too. Certainly possible to win as long as there's enough around him.

I think from a fan perspective this is a very tricky situation. While winning out would give us wins vs. Michigan, Nebby, and PSU it might still not be enough to win the west. At the same time while it makes our win/loss record look that much better, it also makes the loses and our performances in general against NDSU, NW, and Wiscy sting that much more. While it would be a great finish to a frustrating season I'm not convinced to sway perceptions in the long run. We've seen it too many times.

Most of these answers seem more like salvaging the season than turning it around.

Win 3 out of 4? That's okay, but they might do that just by catching a few breaks. PSU, ILL, and Neb are not great teams.

I'd be more happy just to see a team that plays the rest of the year like they want to win. The players are fired up. The strategy and playcalls are aggressive. Energy returns!

That's a turnaround, and something to build on.

Wisconsin has some good cheese. We ain't got that.

There's no turning this season around. With Penn State, Michigan and Nebraska still on the schedule, it's likely to look worse.
While I'd never root against Iowa, I'm also not sure winning one or even two of those three games would be worse for us moving forward. I would sooner win 6 games over 7 this year if it meant Greg Davis would be gone.
