What would our board look like?

If we were in LSU's position and the game went the same way....I say it would be thermonuclear meltdown mode at KOK and KF. LSU's gameplan on O was UGLY. No shots downfield at all allowed Bama to just choke out everything.

agreed. their inability or willingness to throw the ball more than 10 yards was interesting for a team in the national championship.

how about the qb and his option ability. that guy never once made a good option play - never made the other team guess which way it would go - pretty obvious and poorly executed.

That was some of the worst option football I've ever seen. Also why keep running it after getting blasted over and over again? Particularly when speed on the edges, which Alabama has a lot of, is made to stop the option?

I'm not sure which team called a worse offensive game, LSU or the Atlanta Falcons. I thought both game plans were equally horrendous. You're in the NFL playoffs or the National Title game... Why in the hell wouldn't you plan an offensive attack that is aggressive and works towards scoring touchdowns? The Falcons kept running into the strength of the Giants defense (dline), and LSU continued to run offensive plays that went no more than 5-10 yards down the field. Against defenses like Alabama that is just plain stupid. The only way LSU could have had success on offense is if they had faith in Jefferson to set up and make big plays.

Exactly. Is Bama's Defense really that good? They were fast, but really? The LSU O was horrendous...makes me wonder that the only reason LSU was there was their early wins with Oregon and W. Virginia (?) and of course the Alabama I OT luckfest. Would certainly be bummed with playcalling and qb execution as an LSU fan.

They're scoring defense ranked 1st in the nation this year. Allowed 8.8 points per game.

I would say that the fans would have been pretty damn happy to play for a national championship, something that has not happened and will not happen during the lifetime of any poster on this board.

I thought LSU would win tonight. Practically guaranteed all my friends that Honey Badger and that defense would get the job done again. Serves me right for, in a game that both teams had a month to prepare, I put my money on Les Miles and not Nick Saban.

Yeah same, but I mean if we were all LSU fans, where the novelty wasn't satisfying enough. It was just a poor, poor gameplan for LSU. I agree with all of your option assessments. I was getting borderline frustrated and I am not even an LSU fan.

Especially if we had been in the NC, and got shut out, this board would have exploded in a river of spittle and rage. Hard to believe LSU played so poorly. Miles must have thought he had it in the bag.

Imagine a whacky wavy inflatable arm man that was capable of screaming profanity. I think it would look something like that.

Miller would be left with no option but to set fire to the HN servers and open up a salted nut concession stand at the mall to make up for his financial losses.

Whoever LSU's O coordinator is just made KOK look like an offensive genius. What a pathetic game plan.

I would love to be playing in the national title game.

I asked myself the same question during the game. Admire Les Miles and would love to have Iowa in contention for something every year, but he went KF last night.
