What would our board look like?

I don't think it's fair to say Miles went Ferentz. Anyone that has watched any number of LSU games over the course of time under Miles knows that he is at the opposite end of the spectrum from Ferentz in terms of playing it conservative.

I think what you saw last night was weeks of film study by Alabama in action to take away the very few things that their QB's are good at doing. They had an answer for everything and their talent wasn't going to overcome Alabama's talent and game plan.

I don't agree with the above post at all....LSU had receivers running free but the QB wouldn't throw it and then the o coordinator went so conservative KF thought they should open up their offense a bit.

They asked Reuben randle (LSU WR) about being open and he basically said they were there and open, and he felt the QB had enough time....

I am not saying it would have changed the outcome for sure...but LSU hog tied themselves all night.

If we were in LSU's position and the game went the same way....I say it would be thermonuclear meltdown mode at KOK and KF. LSU's gameplan on O was UGLY. No shots downfield at all allowed Bama to just choke out everything.[/QUOTE

agreed. their inability or willingness to throw the ball more than 10 yards was interesting for a team in the national championship.

how about the qb and his option ability. that guy never once made a good option play - never made the other team guess which way it would go - pretty obvious and poorly executed.
I think LSU had several plays where they wanted to throw the ball more than 10 yards. And each time they tried it, their QB was sacked.

What you just described exactly supports my claim, if true. Their WR's were open but Bama D was getting too much pressure and, like I said, there are few things that the LSU QB's really do well. They're overrated, frankly.

LSU's success was largely predicated on beating teams because they were loaded with talent. You put them in a real game, against a real team, and they were exposed. Plain and simple.

This team wasn't held to 6 points over two games by accident. Give credit where credit is due. That D outperformed them on the field and they were out-coached. Don't confound getting owned with going conservative. Teams that go conservative can open it up. LSU couldn't do it, ever.

I talked to my friends in Louisiana yesterday and they're huge LSU fans. He said the message boards were asking for the firing of Les Miles. I laughed. The fans are the same everywhere I guess.

Yeah, this is nothing new, and certainly heightened by the fact that they just lost to Alabama in the NCG. There was a fairly large outcry that began in 2008 and 2009 just after he won a NC in 2007 as well.

As obtuse and ignorant as Tavern Hawk can be it doesn't hold a candle to southern fans. Anyone that has lived there or spent any amount of time there can relate. It's a religion. The only thing really comparable in the mid-west is Nebraska fan and they're frankly too polite to really be fairly depicted in parallel with most southern teams fan base.
