No lie: Early in his tenure, at a public event outside Kinnick, Gary Barta VOLUNTEERED to me that Iowa was "going to get that water tower painted with a tiger hawk." I hadn't asked about it and didn't particularly care ... he simply brought it up out of the blue, which I found kid of odd. Seemed very confident. Obviously, he had no idea what he was up against (it's a complicated story within the University structure). It showed to me that he really didn't know what he was talking about.
