What will it take to upset Wisconsin?

Stop Taylor from running the ball similar to their performance against Montgomery and turn the game into a Hornibrook-only offensive attack.

I like our chances if he has to drop back to pass a lot Vs our Defensive Line. I foresee lots of sacks and strip sacks.

Wisky loss kinda takes the drama out

At the beginning of the year I had the Hawks 10-2 with losses to Wisconsin and PSU, I'm changing it to 11-1 with only a loss to Penn State. Too many positives going on for Iowa to lose this weekend. I only hope that BF doesn't try and get into the usual slugfest with Wisconsin and becomes a little creative; think Bielema in 2010.

The UW podcasts I've heard, they are obsessing about the BYU loss. Hope the team is too.
Tyler Biadasz can go piss up a rope. He's a helluva player but anyone who's read my posts knows the history he has with kids that I've watched grow up and helped coach.

Wisconsin knows they have trouble in the passing game that's why they ran Taylor 33 times against a weak opponent. Forcing Hollibrook to pass and then making him hurry his throws may just tilt the game in Iowa's favor.

The return of Ivory Kelly-Martin and Smith Marsette will add some speed to Iowa's line up. Wisconsin proved vulnerable on the edges. Hopefully that with the pressure of Iowa's defensive line will end the Badger's dominance of the West.

Wish I had your faith. I came in at 9-3, I'd adjust that to 10-2 with the win that I'm expecting over Wisconsin. We will almost certainly drop a game we shouldn't. I think 12-0 is more likely than 11-1.

BYU’s qb had 89 yards passing on 12 completions and Canada had 118 yards rushing. I suspect Brian will call a typical Iowa game. The thing is BYU beat them by running outside and then busting them up the middle which we haven’t been able to do much of. Interior OL will decide this game. Hornibrook is capable of shitting the bed which should help too. I like our chances.

I think Sargent will be key because of his speed to the hole when it's outside the tackles. We need to make good use of the jet sweep and fake jets too

I would be tempted to line Fant and Brandon up on the outside and use Hockerson and IKM/Sargent on the inside.
Both Fant and Brandon should win the jump ball and be able to fight for it.
After you get them to back off, you can change it up and let Toren punish them and add the speed of ISM and Easly outside or in the slot. Bring Fant back inside.

Isn't the betting line pretty close?

I don't see it as an upset either way.

Perhaps a tie, which I witnessed at Lambeau Sunday :)

I see a lot of overconfident posts in this thread.

Personally, I don't have a good feeling about this game, and never have. We can't seem to crack the code against their 3-4, and our D will get tired if we live by the 3-and-out on the O side of the ball. Recent history says the same will happen this week. And if Hornibrook gets just one iota of confidence, he becomes a very good QB. Then of course, they can go to ground-and-pound late which they always do with success.

My guess is that, if ISM is back and at full speed, we will see some jet-sweep/ghost-motion from our offense. If we don't...well, I don't want to think about that, because it will not be pretty to watch. We MUST spread their D out vertically AND horizontally. If we get the opening kickoff and start from our 25, we must be willing to visualize 75 yards by 53 yards of workable space. If we maintain the 20 by 40 we usually utilize, we're toast.

Will BF come up with a winning game plan. Not confident. Players need to be given chance to win.....they will be hungry.

Usually hyped up games don't end well for the good guys

Exactly what I said.Players need to be comfortable. Watch and see huh?

Against better opponents most often it is an advantage to have experience and maturity in the OC position.
