What type of person is Bielema off the field?

Are you kidding me?

Fire a ten win coach for a perennial bottom feeder in the sec west?

Because you don't like his personality?

The stupidly required to pull such a move would be ground breaking.

After 3 NFC championship games and 1 super bowl appearance the 49ers had no issue running Harbaugh out. I dunno, have Jerry Jones cut a check and bring in an up and comer who "fits" the culture......Unlikely to happen, but I could see it.

I have lived in Madison for the past 12 years. Most UW fans were either happy or ambivalent when he left for Arkansas despite his recent Rose Bowl appearances. I personally saw him accompanied by girls who were underclassmen at local establishments before he got married. Everyone here was expecting a situation like the one that got Larry Eustachy fired at ISU to happen to BB. Friends who lived in the same condo complex had many stories of behavior that was immature and inappropriate for someone of his stature.

He was also viewed as unable to win the big game by UW fans, as his bowl record was mediocre and he seemed to lose big games when the other team had time to prepare. Paul Chryst was thought to be the reason he won at UW, since BB coached defense and special teams and these units were viewed as weaknesses except for the fake punts against Iowa.

Interesting info, BB didnt seem to have a lot of friends in Madison when he left.

And that move by the 49ers will go down as the stupidest thing since the bulls ran off Phil Jackson for Tim Floyd.

If you are running off people who win you have a management problem to deal with.

No body is running off a guy who somehow manages to win 10 games for a team in the same conference division as Alabama, LSU, Auburn and TA&M.

At that point you may as well just dismantle the program.

Meh. Alvarez was no choir boy either, there was no social media back in his early days. Bret's a decent guy. At 34 years old the guy was a millionaire bachelor. Im sure all of us would have stayed home and had punch and cookies every night with those resources.

I have a few friends who are Badger fans living in Madison. They all loved BB until the day he left for Arkansas and then the dirt started flying. They all suddenly turned on him (understandably) and all this hatred and stories about what a jerk he was started coming to light. Nobody was complaining when he was winning. Nobody.

I'm not claiming this as any sort of fact, but I believe Barry Alvarez to be a huge DB as well and seems to stick his nose right into the middle of the football program that he retired from. I'm sure that doesnt sit well with most coaches. Also, Alvarez was quick to rip on BB after he left saying no one was sad to see him go. Very unprofessional, but that's Barry Alvarez for ya.

My opinion is that even if BB is loud, cocky, and obnoxious, Iowa could probably use a coach like that as a breath of fresh air. A guy who will come in here and blow the bad teams out. A guy who understands that Iowa should never...ever...lose to Iowa State in football.

BB is the kind of guy you love if he's your coach. He's the kind of guy you hate if he's the opponents coach.

This might just hit the nail. I kind of thought he was a D B at Wisc, but that might just have been me hating.

Hell, I don't know. If he would really want to be here as a Hawkeye, it might work.

I'm willing to bet he's matured a bit since his "young millionaire" days in Wisc. I'd be willing to give him a shot.

Does the guy kick kittens and puppies as he's walking down the sidewalk? Look I believe he's married now so I assume with that and him being older then when he first got the Wisky job he's toned down that side of him. So long as he isn't going all Tiger Woods that side of him is personal and I could care less. I don't think he's broken any laws or even been in trouble with the NCAA. So if your looking to replace someone like Ferentz with another guy similar to him why not just keep KF? KF is one of a kind as far as what he's like as a person. We all know that. But business is business and if/when Iowa moves on from him I hope that finding a choirboy isn't the top priority. The odds of finding a good coach that wants to be at Iowa 10 plus years and embodies everything KF is off the field is zero. So why not get a proven good coach who knows the culture at Iowa having been there for years himself that would also be a huge shot in the arm with his outgoing style and aggressive play? So what if say he only coaches at Iowa 6 to 8 years instead of 16 if that's what it'd end up being? If they were to be in January bowl games 4 or more of them with dare I say a visit to Pasadena who of you wouldn't sign up for that right now? I'm not crazy enough to guarantee he would do that but I will say he's capable of it and that's what coaches are hired off of

Can someone please photoshop and put BB's head looking up on this woman?

He has a good killer instinct that it takes to dominate football. I think he is not afraid to make enemies at other schools and will do everything he can to establish a dominant program. But im not sure we will ever see him at Iowa, or that we would ever want to. Bobby Stoops on the other hand...
