What is more frustrating?

A) Having no expectations and hoping to win a game, or

B) Watching this team pee games down their leg?

Sometimes, I just don't know, this is getting enormously frustrating watching this team just flat out let games trickle down their leg.

Both games against Purdue and now this one...there are games against PSU and NW at home left...stay tuned

Tonights loss should be unacceptable to everyone associated with the Iowa program, this was borderline embarassing to me.

If you aren't frustrated that Basabe is still starting, then we as fans don't know basketball....what a joke

Exactly right. Not acceptable.

not borderline- extremely. Neb had 4 road wins TOTAL in the last 3 seasons.

It sucks.

The team should be ******, and I'm sure they are, for 3/4 of the game they won but didn't close the deal. For many years Iowa basketball was met by apathy.

I guess I'm glad that people have passion for the team and therefore are so upset at the loss.

This team has shown the potential to beat teams with a talent level where they have no business beating, but we've also got our clocks cleaned by Campbell at home. After that I'm not gonna start making a noose after any loss. I hope we improve and don't lose games like this that we can win. I hope that we keep improving so that we're playing our best basketball at the end of the year during the Big Ten Tourney.

We all knew we wouldn't be winning the Big Ten this year, now next year at this time, as a fan I'll be upset if we have a loss like this. Right now, I'm just hoping they come out and play well and get a win next time out.

Back to your question, I'm glad we had the wins..when you beat a very good team that means you played better for a few minutes on one night. Too many ignorant fans think that means you're automatically better then they are and should never lose to any other team that isn't in the top ten. This also works the other way when you lose to a bad team. Every time we have a bad lose a bunch of people come out and say we'll lose every other game that year. I think the best(or worst) example was when Iowa football got killed by Arizona State in 2004 and people were blowing up the message boards saying that Iowa wouldn't win any games in the Big Ten. They ended up 10-2.

During the course of the season you will always win some you think you should lose and lose some you think you should win. Especially in basketball where you play so many games. When we're "Back," we'll still lose a couple we think we should win but our overall record will be awesome.

Anyone on the ledge after a bad loss like this needs to take a deep breath, a couple of strong anti-depression pills, and go to sleep. We're going to Indiana in a couple of days and a win there will be frickin' awesome. :)

Go Hawks.

I have watched Iowa BB since Lute and have never seen the confidence issues some players have on this team. nearly 20 games into the season and I cringe every time they put the same starting line up on the screen.

He isn't the only reason Iowa lost genius boy, you give me one good reason since the start of the big ten why he is starting, nevermind, you can't.

He may be starting, but how much is he really playing, it is obvious that Fran is more comfortable seeing if Basabe gets a good start to the game or not. If he doesn't White comes in from the bench where Fran is comfortable with him and Basabe gets spot minutes from there.

If he isn't the only reason Iowa lost, then why even call him out specifically?
That is just ignorant.

He starts because Fran isn't comfortable starting anyone else and likes White off the bench rather than a starter.

Confidence issues? Most overused phrase in sports today...proven players have slumps, not confidence issues.

Ignorant? who is really being ignorant now? If white is better than Basabe, you start the better player. You play to win the game. This isn't rocket science. Basabe is starting because fran is worried about his feelings so he doesn't leave the program or god knows why he is starting him. Why not see if Basabe performs better off the bench?

They play pretty much the same amount of minutes. Why does it really matter who starts?

It matters. If you've ever played bball you know this. It's unexplainable but if you are the better player than the starter, it causes a rift through the entire team.

Ok, I get that. It's a pride thing though I don't think there is a clear cut best player when it comes to any of our post players and if there is anyone that it would effect negatively, I think it would effect Basabe if he was benched.
