What if....

I"m sorry but I don't see a one loss ND team getting picked above two undefeated conference champs. If Iowa and OK ST win out and ND gets' picked ahead of either of them something is extremely wrong with how this whole thing is set up.

We just need the Big 12 to take themselves out and be left out again. Okie St still has Baylor and Oklahoma. Baylor still has 4 tough tests and hasn't looked as good with backup QB.

Leaving

Bama
Clemson
Iowa (as long as they win out)
ND or Stanford who play head to head

If Oklahoma St wins out, that could throw a wrench in this whole thing!! But I would wonder who who would have a stronger strength of schedule with Iowa playing an extra game in the Big 10 championship. Okie St would have played Baylor, TCU and Oklahoma all at home so no quality road wins and their non conference was junk. So I'm still not sure we don't get selected ahead of them anyways.

Tom Barnhart, on Sirius Radio College Sports, said exactly what iba listed above...did not discuss OK St. My guess: If Iowa beats the now consensus #1 team and defending national champ, OSU, we are a lock. Makes sense.

ND is propably going to be 4th on Tuesday. If they win out ending with a win over Stanford they will most likely be #1 or #2 they will not be left out. You don't drop in the rankings beating good teams.

If the committee had any intentions of putting Iowa in over ND or Baylor, they would be ahead of them now when the strength of schedule actually justifies it. Up to this point, Iowa has played a strong schedule and Baylor has played a terrible one. The only thing that should make them change positions now (as long as neither lose) is if Iowa's schedule from here on out is harder than Baylor's remaining schedule. But it's the exact opposite. You don't pass a team by playing an easier schedule than them.

We already beat the team that beat Stanford by 30. ND's best wins are Pitt and USC at 6-3 which really aren't any better than us. Georgia Tech has 6 losses and Texas lost to ISU. Yes, they will potentially drop if there is an undefeated conference champ. ND will not be #1, that's ridiculous.
