What does "Shock" feel like...I think I'm in it.

some perspective.... this Penn St team was the most athletic team Iowa has played - way stronger/faster on perimeter than Wis. and their DLiine was very hard to control for 80% of the game.

If Penn St had not blown 2 leads - at home - Mich St went 75 yds the last 1:20 w/ no timeouts and they had Ohio St down 12 w/ 8:00 and ended w/ a zone read play on 4th & 5, Penn St would have come into today rated in the Top 5.

Same is true for Iowa talking about Wis game though.....

We'll see how Wis @ Penn St. turns out in 2 weeks

I'm at a loss at what to do with the discretionary funds I now have at my disposal since I won't be going to Indianapolis or a 3rd-tier bowl game.

Decisions, decisions.

I had that feeling after the two safeties where with a little luck we recover both for TDs, but no we got 4 points and on one we didnt follow up with a drive for a score.

With the weather and being tied at halftime due to another weird thing we all know I felt the dread for the 2nd half

I thought the same, the safeties were cool, but so easily could have been 14 points....

Damn.

It was one play. Did you see Stanley F up play after play after play? He did not belong on the field. The coaches are to blame as well. 10th ranked rushing defense and we throw 49 times with a terrible qb and no receivers. Brian Ferentz is a complete idiot.

Not so sure about the no receivers part anymore. B Smith is starting to show some things. Him, Hock, Fant...that's enough. But I agree, needed to run more.

I'm at the point with Kirk Ferentz, I get angry right after the game ends, but after a short time later I'm just like "whatever" as long as we are stuck with him, this is what we get with Iowa football.

He also put the team in position to win. How many Pick 6's did he have to put Iowa back in the game. Jesus sit McSorley already....

He "put them in position to win" and then he singlehandedly lost it.

He's not a gamer. He cracks under pressure. I'm about 99 percent certain that it'll never change, so if the game is hanging in the balance and victory depends on Stanley coming thru in the clutch, you'd be well advised to just shut off the TV and start doing shots or taking massive bong hits.

The coaches are letting the qbs do too much thinking. The game needs to be simplified and coached within their abilities. They should drop back and react not contemplate.

That may not be easy But if Brian is ever gonna be a head coach he needs to figure this out. Too much pressure fell on Stanely.

Yep he's fucking Rudock, sit him already!

I would of only been shocked if we had won!
I've had over twenty years of training, beatings and hot pokers shoved in my eyes to be shocked at what false hopes lie in the confines of one Iowa City. To think we actually feel good and achieving actual success after beating teams like Ia state, Indy, mn, Mary and uni makes me want to vomit! We are those same teams point blank! Except little brother will soon be like another wisc, Penn St, game hoping we have what it takes and a perfect game because that margin of error is closing with Campbell coaching them. So shocked? No! Only Shocked we as hawk fans accept the same shit every year and think we actually have a chance of more than 7-5 and 8-4 seasons.

Your right! Seeing wide open receivers and over throwing them has to be one of the most over pressured decisions a QB will ever make! Damn you BF !

I've really never seen anything like that before. When our coaches go through that tape...they are going to see guys wide open and our QB can't even get close to them...or he throws to the wrong guy. On the first interception...he throws to the boundary, when Fant is coming across the field with no one around him...his all-American tight end is wide open.

He couldn't throw a 7 yard pass between two linebackers without skipping it. I could throw that pass with two broken fingers...I swear I could. There were so many guys open and he was nowhere near close.

I know guys have bad days...but he's been struggling with accuracy all year and bonehead plays. I feel for him...that was embarrassing. I'm not sure what you do if you are Brian Ferentz. I think you have to bench him. Or start him against Purdue, and if he does this routine...he's on the pine in the second quarter.

I know another poster said this too...but when he threw that "grounding" ball to start the game...I said to myself...oh no...we have bad Stanley today. That however, was taking it to a whole new level.

How long you been an Iowa fan?
