What a joke. The most confusing thing about that though is, why in the hell would a kid commit to a school knowing full well that there may not even be a scholarship for him? Oh yeah, some kids aren't the brightest. That's it.
I talked to a former Big Ten head coach about this very point this summer. I asked why a parent would send a kid to an SEC school with that risk when they could go to ND or a premier BIG team. He coldly looked at me and asked if I represented the typical parent of a college football prospect. He blamed the parents without equivocation. They think their kids are so good that they should already be playing in the NFL Pro Bowl. So why would they ever think that they could not make a college roster?
