What do we agree on?

The offense is a work in progress

The offensive line blocking is especially an issue

The OLine coach may be at the heart of the OLine issue

The QB throwing accuracy on long balls has had huge implications

The D is doing everything you could reasonably expect

When a play does not work, its because they called the wrong play

1. Barta is not serious about Iowa contending for anything more than the Big Ten West or Ferentz would be long gone.

2. Neither recruiting or a National Championship is or has ever been a concern for Ferentz....if it was, there would be a revolving door in regard to our recruiting staff, and he wouldn't be so quick to grab every 2 Star Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Iowa guy who's dream it always was is to be a Hawk.

3. I think our starting punter may be missing his kicking foot.

4. Jason Garrett needs to be shown the door as well.

There is no brick wall that Wadley won't be ordered not to run at by this coaching staff.

Iowa offense is like North Korea trying to build a nuclear weapon that continuously works.

Fort Kinnick is like North Korea.....anything you say (including the media) will be used against you.

That said
-Tough Schedule
-Iowa should be at least a bowl team baring key injuries.

The o-line stinks
We need more than just Wadley at RB
Receivers are mediocre
pass defense stinks
Punting game stinks
Lots of missed tackles on defense so far in 2017
Brian Ferentz isn't doing so well as our OC

I am totally shocked that we haven't been able to get the running game going at all. Who knew that GDGD would be able to run the ball better than Brian, and Brian could pass it better than GDGD?

The OL is the number one issue. They have not been very good for most of the year. The line play improves, Iowa improves. And by improvement, it includes the coaches and the players. It's pretty simple, really.

Iowa has only won 4 games in East Lansing over the last 30 years. There is a lot of derp today. Get at me when they lose a game they shouldn't and I'll happily wallow in misery with the rest of you.

The running game is terrible. It is the same thing everyone on the planet has seen for 20 years.

We run the same plays in the same situations. Always.

When we audible, we audible to the other side. Teams have picked up on that.

Bend but dont break only works when you can flip the field position. We cannot do that this season.

BF is out of his element. On the job training should not occur at the P5 level.

KF must have a friend or owed a debt when he hired our special teams quality control guy. We need to fix the punt team and the punt return team. Notice I didnt single anyone out.

After Illinois, the defense is going to be asked to do too much. And as we saw against MSU, we dont have a lot of depth. See CB. So the defense may start giving up 35 a game.

Do we agree?

No we don't.

Iowa's run game has been great the last 20 years. Iowa had 2 backs go for over 1000 a year ago

How many times have we fake punt passed to our freshman DL?

The next time you recognize and know what Iowa audibles to will be your first.

BF is/was as qualified for the OC job as any in the P5. There are guys who don't have near his resume coaching at this level.

Bend don't break - holding any B1G team to 17 at home should win you the game. Period.

KF has a lot of people indebted to him I imagine

Iowa never has a lot of depth - I still don't see them giving up 35 pts a game on the reg.

The offense is a work in progress

The offensive line blocking is especially an issue Yes

The OLine coach may be at the heart of the OLine issue Maybe but not the root cause. That is the system.

The QB throwing accuracy on long balls has had huge implications Is Jake C back? The bigger issue is not picking up the blitz.

The D is doing everything you could reasonably expect LB's Yes. No pass rush. Too many yards.

When a play does not work, its because they called the wrong play Yes if being very predictable is a part of that. No if you are thinking its just the wrong play.

Good point. How can a team have 105 guys on the roster and they can't find one guy that can consistently punt that thing 40 yrds?

We probably only played them 10 times in E Lansing over those 30 years. What's your point?

That's probably about right - I just feel like EL is a place Iowa rarely wins. Feels that way to me anyways. My point is this would be something I'd hardly call a "bad" loss like so many are making it out to be. I saw em lose in person to a directional Michigan team in Kinnick once. I remember being pretty upset over that one.
