What are the chances???

Just wondering if anyone else thinks we can make it into the playoffs this year? I'd say we have a really good shot barring no injuries

We will have to run the table, including the BIG title game. That's a tall order considering we will have a bullseye on our backs. We can dream, though. Can't we?

Doesn't anyone have the "so you're saying there's a chance" meme handy?

Very low odds as always. It took nearly 90 years for the hawks to have another undefeated season. It is hard for me to imagine a season again where we get a 57 yard type winning FG and a fumble by a team like Wisky at the hawk 3 yard line. Odds are way against it.

But that said I think the hawks will be close because I think KF, his staff, and the players are looking and practicing at every detail. I think a lot of the details etc were overlooked for awhile.

If the kicking game is above avg and we get a good pass rush this team should be favored in about every game.

November is a long time off and Mich and Nebby could be really good by then.

Slow starting hawks need to get through Sept first.

If we have a healthy Beathard we might not need those things. Heck me might not have needed them last year if we win in ot against Pitt and Beathard leads a game winning drive against Wisconsin.

40-1 sounds about right. It doesn't mean there are 40 teams ahead of Iowa. In all likelihood the top six or seven teams will take three of playoff spots if not all of them. Iowa is among a dozen of so teams that have a realistic outside shot at a spot.

There are more than 100 teams that have no realistic shot at a playoff spot.

Those odds reflect how incredibly difficult it is to go 12-0. Even under ideal conditions.

I'd love it but exactly. I'm a realist. The odds of it happening again are very remote. But, Iowa may have better odds of doing it again compared to IA St going 9-0 thinking about it again. lol.
