What an atmosphere

I'm just curious if anyone has seen the I-O-W-A chant go on for that long? I've been to several games, and can't recall it going on for what seemed like 10-15 minutes. I've seen it last thru a commercial break and up to a kickoff, but not this long.

Yeah!! I was there it felt like everyone was SCREAMING it while the Hawks were on defense. It was like the stadium was trying to will the Hawks to get a stop. Never heard that chant, that long, and that loud!!! Very cool!

And I haven't seen everyone in Kinnick celebrating like that since Murray in 08. It was surreal, no one wanted to leave for like 5 minutes

I've been to every game for the past 12 seasons, and my answer is NEVER! I couldn't believe how the I-O-W-A chant continued well into the next defensive series.

I was amazed by the crowd at the Pitt game. It was an emotional night with Greenwood in attendance, and the moment of silence for Tyler Sash and Roy Marble. They said that even Lute Olson was at the game!

After the game-winning field goal, none of the fans seemed to leave as the players stayed on the field long after Pitt went to the locker room. The crowd showed their appreciation by keeping Kinnick as loud as it was at any point in the game. We couldn't even hear the band playing the Iowa Fight Song...twice!

Great atmosphere, great night, great win. MK will never buy another beer in Iowa City.

Go Hawks!

You can thank the students for that one. They just kept getting louder and louder. They wouldn't let it go. It was awesome.

It was rocking. Had to impress the high profile recruits that were in the house. Last night was a 10 out of 10 in my book.

What a great night at Kinnick ,I lost my voice. The student section was amazing,a lot of kids cheering our team on.Still a lot of seats available better get them quick.Go Hawks

From our seats it was the W and A that were loud. I'm guessing they are saying it was the I and. O

Did anyone else notice the projection of the tiger hawk on the water tower during the pregame? I thought that was a nice touch too.

15 minutes before the game the BIG network went to cut away of the stadium and I saw those empty seats at the upper levels.......I was like that doesn't look good. By kickoff those seats filled in and it looked great on TV.

I was in section 125 last night. The noise was awesome. I couldn't believe how load Kinnick was getting. I'll remember this game for a long time to come.

I only get home for one game a year and I'm so happy I picked this one. Go Hawks!!!!!

It was great and it would of even been better if we could of stopped them on 4th down.Guess can't have everything but at least we won the game.3-0 Go Hawks

This is all great to hear...shows you what everyone has known, that having an exciting product on the field can ignite Kinnick back to the intimidating place that it is and should be!

Nice job crowd, wish I could of had my kids there for that one. Cool to hear these reports.

I would like to know what the players thought, that I-O-W-A is a little different than a straight loud crowd noise. I'm wondering if it fires them up, or they tune it out. Loudest that I've heard Kinnick in a long time.
