What an atmosphere

Also, it would be cool to hear what the recruits thought, how could they not commit to Iowa after that game and that crowd.

Bull ****. They all count on your record so it's not meaningless.BIG conference games are important but so are non-conference games.

I'm pretty sure that, by putting quotes around it, he was saying it was definitely NOT a "meaningless game". Goes to show you that, from a morale, standpoint, a non-Big10 game CAN have a big impact on how your season may play out. I think this one will have that sort of lasting impact.

I would like to know what the players thought, that I-O-W-A is a little different than a straight loud crowd noise. I'm wondering if it fires them up, or they tune it out. Loudest that I've heard Kinnick in a long time.

The only hitch was that, during that prolonged I-O-W-A chant, Pitt moved the ball upfield at will. Only when they went back to the usual crowd noise did we finally stop them.

But we should try it again in a future game, cuz it was pretty freaking awesome while it lasted.

Yeah!! I was there it felt like everyone was SCREAMING it while the Hawks were on defense. It was like the stadium was trying to will the Hawks to get a stop. Never heard that chant, that long, and that loud!!! Very cool!

And I haven't seen everyone in Kinnick celebrating like that since Murray in 08. It was surreal, no one wanted to leave for like 5 minutes

Was there to in the "O" section. Of course, they score on that drive, but that was awesome! Kudos to the student section for getting that going!

that was as much fun as i've ever had at an iowa game - loud, into it, very well done with the greenwood intro, honoring other sports teams, honoring the military person, honoring gallery - great game, great outcome.....oh yeah, didn't hurt sitting in the 2nd row behind the pitt bench - that was A LOT of fun! :)

I've been in Kinnick for the '03 ASU and Mich games, the '04 Wisky game, the '08 PSU game and the '10 Wisky game....in addition to last night's game...and last night was, without a doubt, the coolest, most emotional and loudest atmosphere I've ever personally been a part of. From Greenwood leading the swarm, to the sustained I-O-W-A chant, to the ear-splitting roar when the FG went thru, it was a night I won't soon forget. And being able to have my two boys (15 and 11) to experience it with was something that I'll cherish forever!

I have been to almost every home game for 25 years. Even though the opponent wasn't necessarily a high impact in terms of emotion/rivalry, it was one of the top 5 games I've been to at Kinnick. Like others have said, I have NEVER heard the IOWA cheer go on as long as it did. It seemed like there was a small lull as a play developed and then it went right on where it had left off. Unlike other years, the sound didn't build. It came out like a freight train from the start. Amazing.

I've also never seen so many players leave the swarm and come back to thank the fans the way they did. That reminded me of the PSU night game in 08 and the Michigan night game (04?).

Ill just echo some of her comments on here about having the kids with... I brought my 10 year old daughter to the game last night and we had a friggin blast!! We were both going nuts, I was throwing her in the air in jubilation, the fellow fans around us were spectacular, and the game... The game!!! We will cherish these memories for a long time to come.

I thought about this too, not so much from the players perspective though. I think the fans cut out like 50% of the crowd noise unfortunately, as cool as it was.

Great job fans, it sounded so awesome on the tv. I had to attend a wedding and dipped out at 7:15 sorry the open bar couldn't even keep me away from the game!!

We didn't bring our kids because we thought it would be too rowdy. Man, I wish I would have had them with us (they are at 75% of the games). That ending would have stayed with them a long, long time.

Funny enough, the fans were all terrific. I don't think I saw one really drunk person the whole night. No one was swearing like a sailor either.
