Welsh back, Kornbrath gone

I think KF can't kick a kid off the team and yank his scholly without there being a disciplinary reason or grades reason to do so. So he gets to graduate and have a free education for being a crappy punter.

That is correct, as of last fall, for the Big Ten only. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...st-major-conference-to-guarantee-scholarships

It wasn't true prior to then - a player could be booted and scholarship pulled for any reason or no reason. In practice, most coaches don't do it for simple ethical reasons (not to mention reaction of teammates). But it's common for some like Saban, who boots underperforming kids to make room for more talented underclassmen.

From article:Chad Hawley, the Big Ten's associate commissioner for compliance, said Friday the phrases "good standing" and "bona fide reason" were intentionally left vague to give each school flexibility to create their own policies.
"In a general sense, what it means is if you're progressing academically, if you're following team rules, if you're behaving yourself in the community, then you're in good standing," Hawley said.

So, if CK is not on the team, then, to me, he isn't eligible to being consider as following team rules. So, kfootball has leeway and chose to keep him on scholly. I'm okay with based on my previous post.

I think there is a rule of how many players you can bring to training camp. By him not participating, allows another walk-on to start with the rest of the team in August.
