Well, Northwestern may not be the most talented, but they have been pretty consistent in their games this year.....in that they have not really been blown out.....just like Iowa...only they did much better in conference.

Sure, overall Fitz has been better than ferentz head to head... but Iowa has laid some absolute beatdowns on Fitzgerald in recent years. Look at 2014 (48-7) and 2015 (40-10).

That 2015 was especially impressive. Northwestern was ranked, it was in Evanston, Chicago media was hyping it all week and Canzeri went down early with a high ankle sprain.
The OT win in 2013 was impressive because it showed Kirk can outcoach Fitz in a close game when he puts his mind to it.

The same people who are all butt-hurt that they are watching Paddy's swarmy mug instead of Kirk chewing gum and jotting down notes are same ones who would be in an uproar if we lost the game, questioning Kirk's coaching and all the way down the line.
I am enjoying this game, and will enjoy it more if jNW scores here.
It's a vicious cycle.

Did anyone really try arguing that KF "owns" Fitzgerald? I've never heard that once...ever.
The last 2 years coulda gone either way, they went to NW. If Iowa's running backs don't fumble twice in the 4th quarter maybe Iowa wins. If Fant doesn't drop the easiest pass of his life maybe Iowa wins in overtime last year. Neither game was a beatdown where Fitzgerald's expert coaching ran circles around ferentz.
