Welcome to the Dark Ages

A win next week will help curb some of the negativity. A loss....... Well I am at a loss of words to describe what the boards will be like here....... and maybe justifiably so.

Guys like stillbuster are what's wrong with Hawk fans they would follow Kfed into a burning building just because Ferentz is a great guy and said there is water inside.

KF wouldn't go into a burning building for water, fool.

He'd only take that wrisk for Wrigley's JuicyFruit.

The sky is not falling. There are definitely signs of life, and most of th mistakes being made are by young players and are correctable. Each position (both O and D) has shown flashes of this being a pretty solid football team. They've just got to put everything together.

Did we watch the same game? The game I was at was Iowa against a really really really bad FCS college. The score was 7-0 at the half and 21-14 in the fourth quarter. I was half asleep and so was everyone else in Kinnick. Very few "signs of life" on or off the field. Against teams like this, even marginally bad teams from the big ten make mistakes with young players yet still win by 35 points. So either you were watching a different game or you are an unmedicated, possible undiagnosed schizophrenic. How can any rationale human being be in any way positive about what happened out there today? We took a huge step back even after losing to a MAC school last week.

That margin was due to penalties, mistakes, dropped passes, and a missed field goal. Definitely concerns, but I would resist generalizing to the point of nausea. Serves no purpose. What I'm more concerned about is our running game against a good defense. We may not know that reality until Big Ten seasons starts.

You can't make these excuses for Iowa w/o acknowledging that Missouri State should've scored on their opening drive if their receivers weren't as bad as ours. Problems is the issues you've listed are generally all correctable, except they're being repeated game after game after game. At this point it's difficult to believe they'll ever be rectified.

Yes, its great scoring only 28 points with 500 yards of offense against an FCS school. Things are looking bright. Get your rose colored sunglasses out, folks.

Brah, it should have been 34 or 38 to 14 if Meyers doesn't miss the FG and KF the gambler didn't go for it on 4th and a very long 1.

*SLOW CLAP*

This response won the day for me!!

How do you see 6 or 7 wins the rest of the way? We haven't looked good at all. Squeaking by a high school team after looking awful in the second half against NIU doesn't build confidence. Davis' playcalling and Rudock aren't helping either.

Ruddock isn't helping? Yes the pick 6 was a bad decision and a mistake but cmon you can't think this kid doesn't look pretty good.

We really need a W next week. I would prefer one with few penalties and no pick six against us.

Hey! Michigan only scored 27 on Notre Dame in the 1st half. We scored 28 against Missouri St. Who better? WE ARE!

Shoot! Baylor only scored 10 touchdowns today. We scored 28 points against Missouri St. Who better? WE ARE!

IMHO opinion we didn't look nearly this bad in early 2008, BUT I may not be remembering accurately.

As I recall things, the issue was that Ferentz was sticking with Jake Christensen who was obviously not the answer. Then, when he did go to Stanzi, he did it half heartedly and benched Stanzi against Pitt so that we lost that game, largely due to ineffective play by J.C.

Now, we just see that we're a bad team.
