This is a rebuilding year. Give Ferentz 3 or 4 yrs and we might compete for 3rd or 4th in Big Ten. Come on! With the salary that coach gets he should produce something better. Sure, he's a nice guy and likable, but not worthy of his paycheck!

So Iowa would have been successful if they would have put up 2000 yards? I would assume that would set a record or something.

i'm guessing success for most people would be winning by more than 14 against a below average FCS team.
I remember sitting in Kinnick Stadium in 1998, when we were only leading Central Michigan 7-0 at the half.
The final score was 38-0, but it didn't feel like a win. This ultimately led to the 3-8 season (2-6 in the Big Ten).
Now, we can't beat Central Michigan, and we were only up 7-0 at the half, against a mid-level 1-AA school.

What a bandwagoner ... I was okay leaving Kinnick once went up 14-0 in 3rd cuz knew the blow out was on and needed some eats (chicken nachos and small buff-chick za) at Airliner. Left totally impressed by this VAUNTED OL, only giving up 2 sacks, 7tfl and a couple false start / holding penalties each to such a formidable defense. Likewise by the D, getting such a strong rush to get 1 sack and the defensive backfield only getting burned for a long pass once (bersus 2 against NIU). Yeah, unfortunate it was for a TD but definitely progress, all around.
If you're not convinced of 9-3 or better, just quit posting and sit on the sidelines till bball, when it will be easy to cheer for the Hawks. This team is stepping forward and will definitely surprise. With a couple lucky bounces and the continued GREAT coaching, 2014 is gonna be really special, based on all we're seeing today!!
I think Iowa fan should expect these type of results until changes are made. Iowa's personell does not mesh with GD's philosophy. And apparently he's unwilling to adjust.

Spoken like a true g-1/2-e hok fan who doesn't go to games. Kirt's a good guy and has the staff to steer this ship to the new world of cfb. Sometimes investments take time to pay off so be patient. This last class is the foundation for 2016 -- did you not see what Daniels did on his 6 carries? (5.0 ypc, 2nd only to Weisman!! L. D. sorta rhymes with S. G.)

The worst part about the Kfed debacle is there are still five home games I have a pair of tickets to. I go to the games for the football not the tailgating at this point I might be giving away this entire years lot. Call me whatever you want Kfed lovers, but watching craptastic football in person is not my cup of tea. I'd rather sit at home and watch Georgia vs South Carolina or whatever real football game that is being played on TV.
Iowa's program stinks and until Kfed leaves we will continue to smell like the inside of a porta pottie at the state fair.

Guys like stillbuster are what's wrong with Hawk fans they would follow Kfed into a burning building just because Ferentz is a great guy and said there is water inside.

Wrong. It would have reflected great execution, play-making and simply beating down an inferior opponent...something winning teams with solid programs do when they have a FCS cupcake come into their own stadium.
I would have included great coaching, but that takes more of an imagination than I can muster at the moment.
